And there are rumors of a release date of August 28th (prototype ad with mock boxart?) or Blu-ray.com's listing of September 25th. The above site lists September 19th, which is presumably the UK release date.

I hope this isn't all that we're getting. I was looking forward to a documentary for the comic like the one they did for Iron Man.

While it wasn't one of my top comic book movies, I liked it enough that I'll probably pick it up. It looks like a decent amount of deleted scenes for the release.

Doesn't give us any details for the regular DVD, or if there's any word on a possible 'directors cut' thingy.

Wow! Sorta reconsidering pre-ordering on Amazon, now.

Beginning on August 23, 2011, BestBuy.com will give fans the opportunity to pre-order the Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack of the blockbuster hit "Thor" in sensational, limited edition packaging exclusive to the retailer...

The collectible package features the very first image of Marvel’s Thor, which appeared in the comic book JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #83 in August 1962 with cover art by Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott. The vintage image invites consumers to “Begin the saga of Thor in this issue!”

In addition, every person who pre-orders the "Thor"Blu-ray/DVD Combo prior to September 13, 2011 on BestBuy.com will receive a one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited ($9.99 value).

You think Target will have any cool exclusives? Their Iron Man 2 set was awesome.

Haven't read any recent news but doesn't both stores usually do special versions for most popular dvd releases or am I imagining that?

Wow, that IM2 set looks great! I am a sucker for metal cases like the ones by SteelBooks. But for that IM2, that was the only exclusive part; the case and interior? I'm intrigued by this. So only Target had a special version of the Blu-Ray?

Both stores as of late have been setting up exclusives. Best Buy seems to have been mostly DC comics friendly, and Target Marvel friendly. I could be wrong. I just remember BB releasing exclusive dc dtvs and Batman dvd's and Target did an exclusive Incredible Hulk package. Target is kinda a newcomer though.

Ah, interesting development with a Best Buy exclusive for Thor instead of Target

As for the Hulk one, was that the Blu-Ray that was colored green instead of the signature blue hues the Blu-Ray cases have?

I believe the case was the only special thing in the pack. It was about ten bucks more expensive than the other editions, but I really didn't like the other cases featuring the "suitcase suit" that was only used for one scene. I buy things for silly reasons like that. :p

Yeah, I didn't understand why they used that suit for the dvd cover either. Didn't they use that for the film poster too? I kinda wish they would truly just use one new suit for each film to serve the purpose of the story. Just one more flaw of IM2.

I have Target exclusive packages of Iron Man (Mark III Helmet DVD Case), The Dark Knight (Batman mask DVD Case and Bonus Disk with "Batman Unmasked" documentary), Spider-Man 3 (Exclusive Slipcase over the regular sleeve, Bonus disc with extra features, and a production booklet), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (DVD case is also a photo/production book) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (With transforming Bumblebee case). I've seen some for Twilight, Transformers, The Incredible Hulk, and the aforementioned Iron Man 2.

I think they use to have special versions of the DC Universe movies with bonus episodes, I bought my copy of Justice League: Crisis on Two-Earths the week it came out there, but didn't get any.

Tuesday's almost here... Any news of exclusives?

For those interested, below is the back cover art for the regular Blu-ray release of Thor, hitting shelves Tuesday from Marvel Studios and Paramount Home Entertainment. Click on the thumbnail below for a closer look.

A talkback for the release will be posted Tuesday morning right here in the DVD Discussion forum.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
