There needs to be a serious adult oriented animated space sci fi series

About time we get more adult animation that is not comedy.



I imagine space opera type shows would be cheaper if done in animation instead of live action.

I think it would be cool to have a serious sci fi animated show that was of HBO quality but sadly it seems like there is still the mentality that adult oriented animation has to be raunchy comedy.

They are animation and vfx for the most part and real actors play only a minor role.

I want this more than anything (as in, I want these kinds of shows to be something that actually happens on a consistent, long lasting basis), but it really does seem like adult scifi animation always dies if doesn't bombard people with wacky gags, bathos, and meta humor.
