Uh...I thought one of the rules for this board was that all DCAU DVD talk should be in the DCAU DVD topic...
So shall it be done.

I like the idea of putting Seasons Three and Four together. Better we get the whole Cadmus arc together, rather than half now and half later.

I am a little bothered that it appears we're only getting two commentaries and, as much as I like the episode, why "This Little Piggy?" Probably because Paul Dini is willing to do another commentary (he is good), but what about "Fearful Symmetry?" "The Once and Future Thing, Part 2?" "The Doomsday Sanction?" "Epilogue?" And the Fifth Season better have a special feature where they go over the adaptation of the villains.

:p

Not quite; The Zeta Project hasn't been released and WHV said there are currently no plans for the series. The series clearly has strong ties to BB and, unlike Static Shock and Teen Titans, it fits in perfectly, date dispute between TZP (2040s) and The Once and Future Thing, Part 2 (2050s) aside. Also, Gotham Girls and Lobo are also absent if you count them too.

I hate to say this, but as far as I'm concerned, Zeta only existed in that one episode of BB, and that was it. That other Zeta was a different one seeing as how his look and personality were different.

What is Lobo and Gotham Girls? I don't remember any such series.

Lobo and Gotham Girls were webisodes that existed on the internet

The box-art for "JLU Season 1" is a little strange. I mean, it doesn't stick to the usual look or color scheme, and the Superman design is the Season 1 model.

Ooo nice cover. While the Hawkgirl in the corner could be revised, they finally gave GA both his arrow and bow, and GL has a shaved head. Already the attention to detail is improved.

well I guess it wouldn't be the first time some great episode do not get commentary...
Though I beleive it might be wrong, only two commentaries on 4 discs? same with BB..

kinda glad/sad the DCAU is coming all out on DVD, hopefully we eventually get Zeta and SS.

Well that 'different' zeta crossed over in BB and Batman crossed over in the Zeta show. :p

So Season 1 of JLU actually includes seasons 1 AND 2? Interesting. You'd think they'd want to advertise that.

I hope they put The Zeta Project onto DVD at some point. I loved that show. Zeta/Ro 4 life.

I really love that Batman Beyond cover. Not sure about the JLU cover...some of the poses look a bit awkward to me, all lumped together like that. It's good to see that JLU isn't being released under the "Kids" banner, since that probably means better features.

Seems like it'd make a little more sense to release each of these sets with 13 episodes each on them. I wonder if the larger sets have been selling better? I can't complain though--it'll probably be cheaper for us this way in the long run.

Oy... I'm surprised they even put Hawkgirl on it. The season summary doesn't have her mentioned...

I suppose that's why it's the old design...

Episode Commentary choices are weak. I know Epilogue ain't the big DCAU finale anymore, but it still serves as a nice book-end for the series, Being the last thing to take place in-contuity outside of stuff involving the LOSH. Plus the Phantasm is in it, and until we can get some MoP 2-Disc action going on, I'd love to hear someone from the production team mention her. D=

Am I the only one getting tired of seeing Superman on the spine of the Justice League releases? For crying out loud, he had his own series!

1. The JLU season 1 DVD cover looks cool but they should correct both Superman and Hawkgirl. Specially Hawkgirl since she is not longer that heroe but Shayera only.

2. The JLU season "1" cover states its a 26 episodes dvd. It looks as thick as the JL dvd releases so it really looks like its 26 episodes. Plus the press release talks about Epilogue, etc so I think its pretty sure they are making season 1 and 2 into season 1 only. Besides tvshowsondvd.com pretty much confirmed its a 4 disk release. That would make sense after all because the cadmus arc but it would be still just weird for fans of the show who already know they splitted the arc into 2 seasons when it aired on tv (The once and future thing was the season 1 finale in my mind!)

3. They definately should give us more than a couple of commentaries than the ones announced. They HAVE to do at least 1 on a cadmus related episode. Also I wouldnt be able to understand how they would not talk about Epilogue. That would be like ignoring a fundamental piece of the DCAU.

4.Batman Beyond season 2 cover is PERFECT. I wouldnt change a thing. Commentaries are just fine.

I am pretty impressed that WHV is going to release 2 box sets on the same day containing 4 disks. Thats kind of inusual since they usually put a 2 disks release along with a 4 disks set. Anyway, I am already loving october 24. JLU is my favorite show on earth and I cant wait to get it. The JLu season 1 dvd doesnt look quite that logical for me but I gotta admit that getting the whole cadmus arc in one release is wicked!!!! (as SJJ might say! hint hint)

There were two episodes of BB with Zeta in and the second, "Countdown," featured (IIRC) three additional characters from The Zeta Project. Plus, TZP episode "Shadows" featured Batman/Terry. Zeta's difference in look was simply a redesign. That kind of a change didn't make TNBA separate, or JL from S:TAS due to Aquaman. The second season was pretty good, as the BB crew went over to TZP.

I'm sure it's a mistake.I mean why would they sellk JLU season 1 and 2 together and then later sell season 3 alone.I think there is a small mistake that will be corrected.

Ah,forget what I said before.They explained it all on tvshowsondvd.com today.Right here:http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6043
Ah,hell I'm happy I'm getting the 26 episodes!

I hope that we do have JLU straightened out before October. I thought there were 13 in Season 1, not 26. If it is 26, I hope The Clash is part of it.

actually it is 26.Check the site I mentioned a post before. They apparently consider season 1 to be those 26 episodes.weird when it aired on CN it was introduced as season 2 .

Who cares about the reason why, the fact is, we get 26 episodes on one set instead of 13!!!!

Yup. Totally agree with you there. Poor Martian Manhunter's odds aren't good for making it onto a spine. He barely made it onto the cover of JLU.

I think YTV got the first 26 episodes at once or at least how they aired the show made it seem like that so I always considered the first 26 episodes to be one long season and the final 13 episodes to be just a bonus season for the creators and fans to have one final run at the universe. It will be nice that Justice League Unlimited: Season Two and Batman Beyond: Season Three will both be just 13 episodes.

And if a DTV is released with these it was obviously be the Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo movie.

Wow, having season 1 and 2 in one set is great news, I was really hoping that we'd have all of Cadmus on a single package. But if we are only getting commentaries for two episodes it takes some of the lustre out of it.

I mean compared to the other releases, save BTAS vol. 1, two commentaries seems pretty stingy especially when you take into consideration the great episodes that will be featured here. I'll join the others who have lamented that we will seemingly not be getting a Cadmus episode with commentary, and that if any JLU episode deserves singling out in such a way it's "Epilogue."

I can't complain about "The Return" getting a commentary, as in my opinion its one of the best and certainly deserves it, but "This Little Piggy"? Don't get me wrong, it's a fine episode and I enjoyed it a great deal, but compared to what else the series had to offer it's one not one that I would single out for the distinction of commentary.

Given a recent demonstration of the power of consumer influence on DVD set production, "if" this "two episodes only" commentary situation is confirmed I suggest we start one of our letter writing/internet petition campaigns to get at least one more commentary episode on there.

Granted I have no idea how the production of such things works. It may very well be too late to have more produced and packaged in time for the October release, and Warner Bros. DVD may be reluctant to change their prodcut for something that will only satisfy hardcore fans, but what do we have to lose?

What say you World's Finest posters?

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
