i am now on google chrome and its faster now thank you for your help

Keep in mind that the storm might be disrupting internet speeds throughout the country.

The next thing I can suggest is to clean up your PC registry.

CCleaner -> http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Download and install that. Open it and click on "Registry" on the left side. Click on "Scan for issues" at the bottom, and when the bar at the top says 100%, click "Fix Selected Issues". It will ask if you want to backup changes, you pick yes and then save. On the next box that comes up, hit "Fix all" or go through each one and click "fix".

If that doesn't work, you might have a computer virus (or your computer doesn't have enough memory).

its fine now thank you but if it slows down again can i keep doing it over an over

[FONT=Verdana, Arial]Wasn't quite sure which forum to put this in, I bought the Command and Conquer: The First Decade DVD recently, and for a while, in spite of having Vista, it played largely without incident. i even tried to download the "unoffical patch" which could of course be the source of my problems now, though I think I've since deleted it. In any case, when install it again (and in attempting to fix the problem, I've installed it and uninstalled it several times), I can play everything else with no problem, but for some peculiar reason, the subset of the Yuri's Revenge expansion pack plays, but it won't play with sound. I called Westwood about it, and they were very generous and gave me a coupon my dumb ass hasn't used, but they were at a loss to figure out the problem. Naturally, every PC runs differently, so there's probably no cut and dry answers, but I figured I'd ask, just spitballing. Thanks to any suggestions.[/FONT]

Try setting it to XP compatibility mode. Right click on the game shortcut, go to properties, and check XP on the compatibility tab.

Fascinating. I didn't know you could do that. Unfortunately, it didn't work. "Cannot locate the DVD-ROM. Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK, and restart the application." The DVD is in the drive.

I've downloaded two different browsers for my iPhone and both of them have no audio when I play videos, but Safari does. What gives? And still no luck with C&C. Clearly, audio is no friend to me.

I don't have a fix for the C&C issue, but for the iPhone issue, I'm going to make the assumption that one of the browsers you've tried is Chrome, in which case, they're aware of it and have options until their update is released to fix it.

Their last update didn't fix it. I've actually tried putting on another non-Safari browser, and it didn't have audio either. I haven't fiddled with the settings on my phone, but I can't imagine that's the problem.

EDIT: I always have my iPhone on vibrate, apparently turning onto sound mode will temporarily circumvent the problem because of a glitch.

Sigh, ok has anyone else been having a slight problem with Youtube since yesterday? My problem is that some of the videos just refuse to load. No matter how many times I refresh the page there is just a black square where the video should be but it won't load at all. Everything else on the page loads just fine. Some videos work like normal and some don't- it's always the same ones that don't work even if I come back a few hours later or a day later and it seems random which ones they are. I know it's probably just one of Youtube's many technical problems especially with their new layout that I can't do anything about and it might start working again soon, but I want to make sure it's not just me and that I can't do anything to fix it.

They recently switched designs. It's possible that you're not the only one experiencing that.
