3/12: Agree, some killer teams assembled. Mole Man. Mad Thinker. Silver Surfer. I wonder if they'll adapt the mostly unused Red Ghost scenes from the movie for an issue.
3/25: First tie-in was a nice expansion on the battle between the F4 and Mole Man, the treaty Sue brokered, and how that led to the founding of the Future Foundation.
First Foes #1 reveals Mad Thinker was originally one of Reed's mentors but deluded himself into thinking he taught Reed everything he knew and he was the smartest man alive and Reed was stealing what he deserved. He thought he saved them after the ship was hit with the cosmic rays but it turns out Reed and H.E.R.B.I.E. had to finish Rodin's calculations and that's how they got back to Earth. He thought the smart city was idea. Pretty neat seeing H.E.R.B.I.E. came in handy with defeating Thinker because his android was only prepared to neutralize the F4.
So far so good! I've missed the canon tie-in comics and for F4, they are being used very well. As we know, the movie started with being established and we were told the basic origin story and these comics help fill in the gaps and tell the full origin story / back stories prior to the events of the movie.
Only critique is how long it took for them to come out relative to the movie. But I guess in a way, it keeps them in the zeitgeist of the MCU fans.
4/23: Paul Walter Hauser confirms half his scenes were cut.
6/5: The next First Foes comic releases in September and features Dragon Man.
As the Fantastic Four take the world by storm, Ben Grimm, the ever-lovin' Thing, struggles in the spotlight in his rocky, monstrous form. But could there be a cure for his condition? And what does all of this have to do with the terrifying android known as DRAGON MAN?
7/8: First Foes Shalla Bal comic: Not as good as past ones. How nice for her to force an alien world to have peace after being at war for who knows how long... just before Galactus eats them.
