Has anyone gone to some interesting places in the course of their college (or work) careers? It's an interesting subject. I'm thinking of looking into a summer program in Japan myself. I don't think I'd last long away from my kitty. I think it would be a great thing to do if you have the chance. My campus is somewhat pushing the issue, but I suppose they all do at some point.

I hope to go to France for a while when I'm in college.

Yep, I could say so. For all the discomfort of being in a new place, let alone the cost at times, it was worth it. I spent a year at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and a summer term in Brussels, Belgium after it. If you're still in college and not quite yet on the verge of graduating, I would wholeheartedly recommend it. You get to see new places, move out of your comfort zone, and all those good things.

And if it was such a positive experience and want to continue it in some way to you... That's the harder part of the experience once it's over.

I'm all set to study in Beijing this summer. I'm also looking into doing some studying in Taiwan or maybe Singapore, as well, but as it is I only have the money to go to China at the moment.

I would love to have the opportunity to go to either Japan or Australia. I'm interested in business, so Japan would be a more likely choice between the two. I would love to see Japans scenery, and the people sound like they would be so awesome! The only problem is I don't speak Japanese lol. Australia would be fun too though. A few of my friends have gone to Australia not too long ago, and I've heard good things about it.

I'm leaving for my study abroad in Japan in two weeks. Does anyone have any last minute advice?

While I've never studied abroad myself, I do have some advice for you.

The first would be to learn a bit of the language and culture. If you get the opportunity, travel to different parts of the country to learn about its history and culture. It can help teach you a lot more about it.

Try to make some new friends there as well. I'm sure there are people there that share interests similar to yours. Is there's some kind of group you can join there that gets people like you together, then take the opportunity to join it.

But the bottom line is, if one ever gets the opportunity to study abroad, then do it. You can learn a lot from it. If I had been given that opportunity, I would gladly take it.

I've had two semesters of Japanese, so while I'm far from fluent, I know enough to survive.

Well I'm out of college and while I'd love to study abroad, at the time money was a very big issue. I was barely affording to pay for my school here in the States and I'm contributed almost half to my tuition and most came from loans and minimal support from the parents. Also I have traveled abroad before to South Asia, Europe, Central America, and Canada so I have seen a lot of places much earlier than many of my friends who went to study abroad so I had no real urgency to go since I've been there and done that.

I haven't study abroad myself, but I know a friend and former co-worker of mine who traveled to Macedonia to teach during the Fall 2009 semester. She was at the NOVA International School in Skopje.

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.
