Discuss today's all-new episode of Static Shock!

My favorite episode of Static Shock ever. I woulda thought they would have shown Virgil's mom getting shot while Static was in the bubble or made it that it was because Static went into the past that his mom died. But it was still awesome. Like "The King" on TMNT, I kinda wish this was a 2-parter.

Regarding the thread title: "Flashback" and "Blast From The Past" are two different episodes.

Yep, that was a very good episode. I found the interaction between Virgil and his mother to be real, it was pretty close to being a teary-eyed moment. I wish it was a two parter also, but by itself, it's one of the best episodes of Static I've ever seen.

Later.

Travel Through The Time Stream Yet Again in the Static Shock episode review of "Flashback".

A very great episode of Static Shock with a nice balance of emotion (Virgil interacting with his mother) comedey (Gear being to smart for Static and Timezone) action (The fights with Ebon) and even how complicated temporal mechanics (time travel) is. I give this episode an A+.

Anybody else notice Timezone was credited as Flashback in the ending clips ? All in all this was a great episode; there really wasn't anything wrong with it -- Ebon was actually competent this time around and had a good idea. Although I do have to wonder how well Timezone would have been able to handle herself if she had stayed as a hero ? Guess it depends on the application however it does seem a bit tough to make use of in a fight beyond escape.

And Richie is wise, I tried to consider erasing yourself from existence and found it not worth the trouble. However because of this, I also agree that this could have been a two-parter. Gosh darnit... Now I'm disappointed.

Don't knock it until you've tried it. (The character who probably - vaguely - inspired Timezone, Flashback from Milestone's old Blood Syndicate, could only rewind time by three seconds. She still came in extremely handy for keeping her teammates from being ambushed/shot/blown up/etc.)

Well, I don't think she's useless, but she's definitely an accessory hero; like if all she could do was heal people. I mean, mano-e-mano she wouldn't really be able to actually beat someone like Ebon or 'Big Foot' as the doctor was coined last week and would just keep looping time over and over. A bit of a momentum killer. For some reason she made me think of Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat, superficially.

This was a pretty good ep like everyone said it should had been a two parter that why i wish this season had 26 ep instead of 13... :p but i have one question. What started the riots in the first place? I wish they give us more of a backstory on that night... oh well :anime: 3 1/2 stars

That was my only real disappointment with the episode that Timezone wasn't Flashack from Blood Syndicate. It would have been nice if somehow Timezone's tampering with time only limited her power to three seconds back.

Overall, this was a well done episode. I understand Timezone's decision in the end. Two people, Virgil and Ebon, wanted to use her powers for selfish ends. There's just too many temptations with time travel that it is better to just to erase the power.

Ultimately, this episode never happenned.

You know,Vigil MAY have saved his mother after all.But Timezone erasing her power from existence also erased Virgil from ever going back in time, meaning time never changed.

But why didn't Virgil and Richie forget? They didn't have any "super force feild" that would keep the change in time from occuring for them, meaning they should have forgotten Timezone ever existed as well.

In the last minute or so of the episode, Virgil asks the same thing, and Richie just tells Virgil not to think about it.

Real explanation: The writers couldn't come up with a scientific-y way for them to remember, and just dodged it.

I had a feeling once they went back they wouldn't be able to help at all with the gang violence, being too preoccupied with the villian. Perhaps that factored into Timezone's decision, because she didn't get to help people, and friends and enemies alike just wanted to use her powers.

They *DID* effect the time stream, since Virgil's mother was talking about Virgil being a superhero. I don't think what he did helped because she could have gotten the emergency call that led to her death hours later, meaning she'd still be at the place where she was shot. The signifigance is, this time she still went out and did her best to help people knowing she might die. (Probably where Virgil gets his heroic tendencies from.)

Similarly, Timezone's own time travel powers had to have had happened for her to have stolen her bike the night of the big bang.

I noticed her time travel used a force feild, perhaps protecting the travelers from being effected by changes in the time stream (sort of like Green Lantern's ring energy on JL) while they traveled.

This was excellent! Pure Genuis! *****

This was a great episode now we need this show on Cartoon Network. Not just LA Cartoon Network, I don't know what LA means either I just found the website a while back.

Cartoon Network LA is the Latin America Cartoon Network. I do have to support the idea of bringing Static Shock to Cartoon Network as there are a lot of episodes I have missed because of Kids WB's constant shifting and non-airing of episodes. I would also love to see CN pick up the Zeta Project - another excellent show that wasn't treated properly on Kids WB.

This was definately one of the series best. i give it 4.5 stars. I love the part were static made the picture of his mom with his powers, very cool and sad.

A great episode of Static Shock I really hope this show gets a fourth season.

It was good Saturday, a good Pokemon episode, good TMNT and a good Static Shock that's how Saturday mornings are supposed to be.

Okay, if Timezone went back to stop herself from having her powers, she couldn't have took Virgil and Richie through time in the first place so why did they have memories of the previous timeline at the end?

Like Richie said, don't think about it. Just go with the flow. The staff doesn't want you asking such questions about stupid stuff like logic.

And Norway's unbeaten streak over Brazil continues thanks to their 2-1 victory that led them qualified to the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals (second round, first round is the round of 16) tonight.
Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
