I missed it. Do Patchy and Potty host this special like all the others?

This had excellent animation. It's the second best animation of a currently running animated show (first being Ed, Edd n Eddy).

The writing however has really declined in this show. Three montages of Spongebob missing Gary without words were not needed at all.

And the Grandma/Gary scenes? Ugh. Meow and kindness. No Jokes. Aside from one or two good one-liners, the writing was awful.

The pacing really needed work and this could have been fine as an 11 minute ep, or if they really needed, a 15 minute ep with 7 minutes of Patchy the Pirate.

So.... Animation gets a 5/5, Writing and Story get a 2/5.

Final Grade: 3/5

The writing and pacing were the greatest qualities of the show, but they're both long gone. I had heard this would be a Patchy special, which I hoped would bring the comedy level back on par, but apparently that info was mistaken. Who knew Steven Hillenberg's departure would cause the show to fall apart so completely?

I, as well, missed it. Even after hearing from Daffy Dork "You ganna watch it? Huh? Huh? Huh? Huh? Are you? Huh?" half of the day I still missed it...Well at least from what I hear it wasn't much of a loss. There are always reruns too.:anime:

Geez, you guys are harsh. I admit the Grandma scenes were slow, but there were a lot of funny parts. I almost died when Patrick goes looking for Spongebob and finds him curling up saying "Darn it....darn it..." like he's had a lobotomy.

Me too. I need a screenshot of that, big time.

And Patrick's back to being his old self again:

"I won, but then I lost the little trophy they sent me."

Amy Pholer played that part well as being an old lady. This was a parody of Hansel & Grettle as the lady loved eating cat snails. Hey they do it in other countries. Glad Gray kissed and made up with Spongebob at the end of the episode. Patrick's moments in this episode were gold since he also tried to break Dritty Bubble's record too. *Laughs like Dritty Bubble evilly*

Keep up the good work people. Patchy could have been in this episode, but would have distrupted the flow of the episode.~5/5

Patchy? I hope he never shows his extremely unfunny face again.

Hmm...It's too bad this episode was from last season. I had actually thought for a second that Aaron Springer had come back to Spongebob and saved it from total kingdom ****. Oh well, it was a pretty good episode. I just wish that SOMEONE from the original Spongebob crew would come back and save the show. The shows current season is proof that a storyboarder of lacking art skills and no writing skills does not need to take the wheel of the show after it's creators have left to pursue other things.

Yes exactly.Spogebob is probably the best cartoon on nNick currently and I love the show still, but its so crudly drawn now.Its such a waste of money when they don't push the envelope with the storyboarding and character design.

Speaking of Aaron Springer, what Spongebob episodes did he write?

I can handle the art, but Spongebob's new voice leaves me cold.

Good freaking God. I feel like I've missed something groundbreaking if THAT many people tuned in.

Uh, the only ones I can think of off hand are that episode with the Krusty Krab Commercial and...uh he co-wrote Krusty Krab Training video, or maybe it was just boarded. I dunno I havent watched the show in a while, but he was one of the shows, if you will, meat writers. Him along with C.H. Greenblatt and Merriwether Williams.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
