Several AOL Problems, Need Help!

Several AOL Problems.

OK, I upgraded recently to AOL 8.0 (Can't get 9.0 since I don't have XP, I have '98), and now several strange things have happened.

1) I tried switching the "GOTMAIL" .wav to my custom one, but it didn't register, and now I have no sound for mail. All my other various custom sounds worked perfectly. I even tried the Sound Control Panel and got nothing.

2) I dunno why, but all of the sudden .jpgs & .gifs (such as the Toonami Forum Background) seem very hazy and aren't as sharp as usual. This is even with turning Graphics Compression off.

3) I dunno why, but a bunch of times images refuse to load. I don't mean they get the "X" graphic, but they just simply don't load.

Sheesh, AOL 9.0 isn't this big a hassle.

Hmmm... Dunno about that. AOL 8.0 worked fine for me (Of course, I was using Windows 95 at the time, so that could have made a difference... )

Duke, I had all the problems you had an then some. I never got them fixed untill I called AOL a bunch of times. [Man, some of them are idiots...] I don't remember how it was fixed but I had to go through a lot of steps over the phone with them.

AOL? Problems? What the hell are you talking about? You dont get problems with AOL...silly man. *End sarcasm* You should just drop AOL, dude, they suck. Unless by some horrible twist of luck for you that theyre the only ISP available to you. In which case you're SOL, sad to say.

I had a few problems with changing the gotmail sound a few years ago so I didnt mess with it untill recently at keyword celeb voices I changed it to one of them.
I had the Toonami board actually go pure white on me I thought the mods were changing the background again but refreshed a couple times and it went back to the normal background. I would suggest calling tech support and hope to get someone knowledgeable on the other end because one time I asked a question and they hung up on me!

Yeah, thats happened to me as well, just not on the Toonami board. Duke, you should drop AOL, or at least think about it.

The problem with dropping AOL is that...I'm not the one paying the bills, my mom is. And all my Mom does on the Internet really is go into chat rooms.

I fixed the problems by...upgrading to 9.0.
