I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone has seen this yet. Since Mulan is one of my favorite movies, I was expecting the worst. Judging by the commercials though, it acutally looks like a pretty decent sequel. Would anyone who has seen it actually recommend it?

I'd recommend it if you're a fan of the original Mulan. It has great animation and songs, plus most of the original cast(only Eddie Murphy's Mushu has been recast, but the new voice is fairly similar). The new princess characters are likeable. The only downside for me was that the story's kinda predictable...

I saw the commercials and thought that it actually looked pretty decent visually too. But then I told myself not to be deceived by Disney's untruths:p . Anyway, who knows maybe I;ll give it a look when it inevitably airs on Disney channel.

it is good!! i have it on dvd!!

So . . . exactly how Americanized and proto-feminist is it?

I'll rent it first. I had wanted to buy Mulan on DVD, but I can't stand to only own part of a series and if the sequel isn't good then I just won't buy either of them. As strange and petty as that is.

Just wait until the feeling spreads to Wal-Mart buyers. Disney's going to so regret undermining their rep for quick cash.

I only have Mulan on DVD, and I love it....but don't think I'll buy II...
Just collect the masterpieces :D

It wasn't horrible but wasn't really worth owning either. I liked it more than allt he other disney sequels except the Alladin ones that I actually enjoyed.
Mushu's voice got on my nerves also.

Better than recent theater films. The fecicious Mushu, Mulan at the end, and Shang's apperancy of something (don't know how to use spoiler tags!) were a very nice change of pace. Good plot, good humor, good non CG animation, very good film.

It was okay. I didn't really like any of the songs....and it did have an unrealistically happy ending. The animation was pretty good though, and it was fairly entertaining. *shrug*

That is rather strange. When I don't like a sequel I just pretend like it doesn't exist.

I haven't seen either of the movies, but from what I can tell by the trailers the first one looks brilliant and the secound one looks $H!+

Could someone use invisible text and spoil the second movie for me?:anime:

Mulan follows her heart and helps the Emperors' daughters escape with the gang of three. Mushu sees his chance to break up Mulan and Shang once and for all, so he tells Shang. Shang pretends to sleep as the 4 girls and gang of three sneak out at night. It's a trap. Shang leads reinforcements that corner them in the next town. It's only later, when Mulan and the gang of three are executed in the Imperial City, that Shang and Mushu realize their bad decisions. The Emperor's daughters are married off to the whoevers and poison their husbands on the wedding night. They end up being executed as well, and the alliance to save China completely falls apart. Shang ends up dying on the battlefield against some guy called Nakago.

Mmm, yeah, check the review on the announcement board for spoilers

I finally saw it last night and I thought it was pretty good, though not as good as the first one, not by a long shot. One thing I could not stand was Mushu's meanness, he really wanted to get the two of them split up just so he could keep his job. I'm glad his concicience caught up with him afterwards because poor Mulan really had no idea what was going on.

Also the gang of three were great in the movie I liked how they kept trying to get the princesses attention.

I haven't seen this yet, but I will, since I'm a big Mulan fan. If it's anything like the Cinderella sequel though...
