MeTV Toons - Network TALKBACK & Discussion Thread

BelGioioso appeared for two breaks in a row

The first during TMNT and the second now at the start of New Scooby and Scrappy (the one with Daphne)

Just saw on MeTV Toons website that MeTV Toons is now available on Mediacom nationwide on Channel 155/355 HD.

Rabbits, Ducks and No Turkeys is going on.

Surprisngly, Black and White Friday is on the schedule for tomorrow, but no shorts are listed. That suggests to me there are surprises to be seen.

Per tradition:
-MeTV Toons has changed its bug animation to the ice sculpture version for Christmas;
-Both the special today and Black and White Friday tomorrow will run from 8am to 11pm, meaning only the 7:30am Turtles are on air; Toon In With Me at 11pm is usually themed after the marathon.

Really looking forward to finding out what's to come this Black & White Friday. No idea what other surprises lay ahead beyond the expected Van Buren Tom and Jerry shorts.
I'm enjoying this tradition of the Rabbits, Ducks and No Turkeys and Black & White Friday marathons. The family loved Rabbits, Ducks and No Turkeys - great short selection today, playing all the best stuff.

Given the agreement with Thunderbean, it's expected.

Some Fleischer cartoons that debuted on Black & White Friday:
Betty Boop's Penthouse (1933)
Morning, Noon and Night (1933)
Betty Boop's Little Pal (1934)
Betty Boop's Prize Show (1934)
Keep in Style (1934)
When My Ship Comes In (1934)
Service with a Smile (1937)
The New Deal Show (1937)
The Foxy Hunter (1937)
Riding the Rails (1937)
The Swing School (1938)
Pudgy the Watchman (1938)
Sally Swing (1938)

And all the Van Beuren shorts, courtesy of Thunderbean, that aired for the first time (Mostly the Van Beuren Tom & Jerrys):
Trouble (1931)
A Swiss Trick (1931)
Rocketeers (1932)
Rabid Hunters (1932)
In the Bag (1932)
Joint Wipers (1932)
Pots and Pans (1932)
The Tuba Tooter (1932)
Jolly Fish (1932)
Barnyard Bunk (1932)
A Spanish Twist (1932)
Piano Tooners (1932)
Pencil Mania (1932)
Magic Mummy (1933)
Puzzled Pals (1933)
In the Park (1933)
Dough Nuts (1933)
The Nut Factory (1933) - a Cubby Bear cartoon.
Along Came a Duck (1934) - one of "Burt Gillett's Toddle Tales", a short lived series that blended live action and animation.

So, a lot of new stuff that day.
We now know that they should have the rest of the Fleischer library available, so hopefully we see the shorts that haven't aired yet show up on Popeye and Pals or Toon In With Me, etc. The launch of all the Van Beuren shorts that day makes me think that the long-rumored Animation Antiques block is coming soon as a place to air these. Maybe after the holiday specials in December wraps up, we'll get a schedule revamp that includes a place where these can air regularly.

I'm a little surprised that they didn't get any of the really classic B/;W Fleischers, like Koko's Earth Control or Bimbo's Initiation or the Cab Calloway shorts. But baby steps, I guess.

I can envision a Fleischer marathon sooner than later. It could conceivably have those, plus some of the newly restored Color Classics and Gulliver's Travels and/or Mr. Bug Goes To Town.

Just caught a commercial for TBS's airing of USA vs. Italy (female soccer, friendly) during the Turtles

Is it WBD or is it the soccer federation that promotes it?

MeTV Toons just showed an HGTV Promo during The Real Ghostbusters.

Oh so WBD is now starting to pour in commercials for their pay-TV networks. Kinda makes sense now, not just because of the co-operation, but because conventional pay-TV operators now have it.

I think that has with barter syndication.
Seen an HGTV promo for Fixer to Fabulous during the Turtles last night.

It said "subscription required" at the end because the subscription refers to cable and HBO Max. Worth noting that since this is an OTA network.

And in an unrelated development, at the end of Donatello's Badd Time, the CBS Broadcast International logo was kept intact in the copy, after the WBI (Westinghouse) one being frozen for like ten seconds.

My cable company finally got Me Tv Toons last week. Funny timing, on the late night airing of TMNT 1987 started airing the Red Sky era of the show. So far, I also caught couple airings of Looney Tunes shorts.

The first episode to air was the prelude to the Europe side-season which canonically is during season 3 AIRC

Hence Paramount pairing those episodes with that season

I just saw the schedule TMNT for the next couple weeks for the 3pm central time slot. Looks like we going into the first episode of Season 4, then go into the European Vacation episodes from the first half of Season 7. Which make sense to me, since I remember that how USA Cartoon Express aired the syndicated episodes back in the 90's before head into the rest of the Season 4 episodes that USA Network had (which I think was only up to the last syndicated episode before the switch to the CBS episodes.).

Hooefully I'll try catching Ring of Fire later this month (the episode set in Portugal). I watched like half of it but then again, lunch called.

I don't get it. What is so "TV-PG" about "The Puppy Who Wanted a Boy"? Was it some kind of ridiculous technicality or something? I HOPE it was a mistake, and they meant to say "TV-G". Now while I was "watching" it, I didn't always see the picture (was doing other stuff at the same time), so maybe I missed something?

In any case, I'm wondering if this means that Me TV Toons will show the other Puppy specials, not to mention the later TV show...

Fun fact: During end credits of the fourth season of Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo, you can hear the "Puppy" theme music near the end. This is because it aired with "The Puppy's New Adventures" as part of "The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo/Puppy Hour", which was the one time Hanna-Barbera and Ruby-Spears worked on a show together. Both their closing logos were seen at the end, but more recent reruns leave out the R-S logo (sigh...).

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
Woah yeah today is my Birthday!
