JUSTICE LEAGUE ADVENTURES #26

Written by Ken Rothstein; art and cover by Chris Jones and Dan Davis

The League's strangest adventure concludes as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the Martian Manhunter join forces with outer-space hero Adam Strange to confront an enemy that promises to destroy everything Adam holds dear…including the planet Rann!

Was it just me, or did anyone else think this issue was awful?

The villain was painfully over the top, the plot was ridiculously transparent, and some of the dialogue was sickening.

WW: Watch as Diana, Mistress of the Hunt, guides my aim, even on far-off Rann!

They made J'onn out to be even more of a knock-off of Superman by making his powers weaken from the red solar energy too. He could have sneaked up behind the general and sucker-punched him and the whole thing be over in 2 seconds.

This definitely didn't need to be a 2-part story. I like that they introduced Adam Strange into the fold, but there wasn't enough exposition for me. The villain was a raving maniac straight out of the campy Adam West Batman series. It had no emotional impact at all.

This was a poor read. I sort of enjoyed last month's very simple tale, but this? This was almost too simple. I enjoyed the art, but found the story so unbearable to read. And the ending? That was arguably one of the lamest endings I have ever read. There's no explaination whatsoever! This story just gives us the barebones, but it's barely held together in the first place. I was really disappointed in this story. I hope Chris Jones gets some better scripts to provide art for.

Just a reminder that Chris Jones spoke about some of the artwork for this issue to Toon Zone HERE.

MattL I recall in a thread asked about the model sheets - the answer can be found in the above interview. I forgot to mention that!

Both Dan and Chris will be helping to put another such interview together for artwork from this issue and the next one. So watch out for that! :)

I enjoyed the art of this. I've rarely seen it better. But, this story was so much more disappointing compared to #25. Very precitable, and in a bad way. Somewhat enjoyable, but next time they make a two-parter comic for Justice League Adventures, I expect a lot more out of it.

***/ 5 stars.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
