Is History Repeating Itself?

With the recent overall downfall of ratings among all the different programs on Nickelodeon I think it is clearly safe to say that history is repeating itself again.

2012 is the most recent and probably only example of such a rating decline on Nickelodeon and I feel that such a event is now happening again 2018. Along with the ratings declining you have MANY shows ending or almost on their final season along with new shows (such as Knight Squad) struggling to gain an audience.

Also hit show creators as of lately such as Dan Schneider, Butch Hartman, and Chris Savino have all left or been let go from Nickelodeon likely putting the network in a big pickle as to what will happen next and who will likely be the next huge hit show creator.

Along with rumors that Cyma Zarghami is potentially leaving the network as her reign of president since 2005 this too (yet certain) would make a HUGE impact on the network (hopefully in a good way).

What are you're thoughts on the current situation overall with Nickelodeon?

Let's not forget there was also ratings decline in fall 2014 (which happened after sudden cancellation of Sam and Cat) and early 2015 as well

Forget about that, though that was likely due to them losing Sam & Cat and the fact that Henry Danger introduced completely new faces.

wonder what?? :confused

With some of the recent things that have happened on Nickelodeon, I wonder of history is in fact repeating itself. I'm personally not sure myself, but I still wonder.

I'd say right now Nick could always be entering a new era since most of those people were big at one point for Nick and now they will have to start something new without the relying on them.

I see this as a big change for Nickelodeon. Usually, whenever old presidents of the company leave, then it usually leaves room for more new changes for the networks. The question here is, will the current shows still remain on the air after the current president of Nickelodeon leaves or will they be canceled too? It makes me worry about the fate of the Loud House with a new president for Nickelodeon coming.

Loud House already renewed for season 4 with 26 episodes, and Los Casagrandes (Loud House spinoff) has been picked up to series according to Nick Upfront

"The Bighouses"? Or better yet "The Big House"?

(facepalms)...

I mean, you guys know what "the big house" is, right?...

(sigh)

Nick would be really dumb to cancel Loud House while it's still popular. It's a high ratings performer and it's been used as a lead-in for several new shows and specials. It might not get nearly the run SpongeBob has ultimately but there's no way they can afford to just get rid of it until they find a few other hits.

I seriously doubt they would cancel LH. The LH is the second most popular show on Nick and is competing with SpongeBob very well. If Nick did cancel LH, it’s like shooting itself in the foot.

The animator who did LH did get in trouble for being inappropriate..

In my opinion, Spongebob is a hella best show!
But I don't like the fanbase...

I would hope on the live-action side, Nick finds a new ideas for sitcoms now, Disney Channel's have really gone up in quality (well not Bizaardvark) Andi Mack has done well breaking from the normal Disney Channel mold , Nick should try breaking from their's.

It would be like Cartoon Network abruptly cancelling Teen Titans Go or TruTV cancelling Impractical Jokers.

They've gone on without him successfully, although I'm guessing he's still involved in the background at least in some way.

With all of Disney's properties their TV channels aren't overly important to them. Henry Danger is the only live-action Nick show with any real success right now and it's on its last legs. The Clarissa Explains it All reboot in the works and Blue's Clues reboot tells me they're looking at their classic properties again to bring in more viewers, which was their idea a few weeks ago and how we got the Legends of the Hidden Temple movie, Hey Arnold Jungle Movie, and the upcoming Invader Zim and Rocko's Modern Life specials.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
Woah yeah today is my Birthday!
