What fairy tales/short stories would make for good Disney movies?

I'm surprised Disney hasn't done a movie based on Jack and the Beanstalk, considering it's one of the more well-known fairy tales. I know they were gonna do it with Gigantic, but that got canceled.

I think Jack and the Beanstalk would have been a terrible idea for a movie. Jack is basically a thief and a murderer and is rewarded for it at the end. Gigantic was probably better off canceled.

I don’t have specific stories it mind, but I always wanted to see a story based on African or native Australian folktales.

I would like to see a Disney version of The Princess and the Goblin. I also like to see a Japanese princess

Disney changes every story they adapt. The original Hunchback of Notre Dame is also not suitable for children. Neither are many fairy tales. Innocents die and the message is often: "Don't give women any power!". I remember we compared all fairy tales with the Disney version in high school.

The story of Herakles / Hercules has got a king with flesh-eating horses (the king feeds his guests to the horses), and a queen who gets killed by Herakles due to a misunderstanding set up by Hera, and Herakles saves the immortal Prometheus, who was chained to a rock and whose liver got eaten by an eagle, which grew back every night, only to be eaten again the next day.
