Geek chicks rock!

I'm sorry to say, but the term "geek" does not only refer to a person's interests or hobbies, but looks as well. Don't we all love those hot and good looking chicks who also play video games, read comic books and watch cartoons.

Now let's put it this way. A geek with a big acne problem, is overweight, has dandruff problems...I doubt you'd be singing the "geeks rock" tune then, and don't lie to me...everyone knows looks DO matter, whether you want to admit it or not.

Barb therefore, is too good looking to be a true geek. A true geekette would be someone like...uh...I dunno, Hollywood never represents a truly geeky girl for me to pull an example from. They always cast really good looking babes and put thick-rimmed glasses on them to fulfill the male fantasy. I mean, Rachel Leigh Cook in "She's All That"...come on, are we supposed to believe she'd be that unpopular and geeky in real life with her looks? She's too good looking to be a geek.

I don't know how "geeky" Jack's girl looked...but I imagine she wasn't 180 pounds, full of zits, and had a moustache. A cute face with thick-rimmed glasses and hair tied behind her back does not a geek make.
Well lets put it this way of course I bet any guy here would love the chance to drool infront of Minerva Mink but face it would any of us want to actully date someone that shallow more then once or twice?

Take EWS's Sabrina from his online comic There are drooling fan boys for her yet her build is more normal compaired to EWS's Amy Squirrel.

I think most of us guys here would love to go out with a human version of Sabrina (some may even perfer her in her furry self but that's another story) more so for her personally then looks.

So looks do matter but not that much I'd go out with any geek girl within reason.

Now we're bringing animals into this...

At any rate, Sabrina falls under the "Rachel Leigh Cook in 'She's All That'" category. That is, she's really kind of cute when you take off the glasses (a la Superman--she's a totally different woman without them!). Not a true GEEK geek.

The key sentence in your post is "within reason."

So that means there are standards. And that standard is that geek girls are only attractive when they have some "cute" aesthetic qualities, making them effectively not REALLY geeky.

your a geek if
u have any thing that has to do with magic the gatering
u like marvel and dc comics
huge anime fan
huge video game freek
technical freek
and my #1 rul

U cant spell
:D

I wear glasses and had braces at one time ;) Anyhoo, I seem to get the strangest looks whenever I go into my local comic shop, it's almost humorous. Carnage was pointing out a Weezer t-shirt to me that has Kermit on it, I so want that one! I really need to get to the mall this weekend, try and find some Star Wars shirts with Wookiee's on them while I'm at it. And yes, D&D majorly kicks butt, gotta thank my buddies for getting me into that one. Even have a little elf figure and everything! Wish I had more die though *pout*, but with all my D&D off at different colleges, I haven't been able to play anymore, it's really depressing. I think I'm a cross of a geek and a nerd. Loves school, enjoys homework, still gives teacher's gift, major teacher's pet, teacher's love me, I wear glasses (sometimes), enjoy comics, anime, Batman, D&D and Weezer and my car is a mini Batmobile.

My "almost girlfriend" (don't ask) is a big time geek. Here's why:

- She's barely five feet tall.
- Her ance is so bad she needs a perscription medicine that needs to be refrigerated.
- She doesn't wear make-up or jewlery. EVER. This is truly bizarre, considering she comes from a long line of beauticians.
- The first real concert she went to (excluding the New Kids on the Block show in 1990) was They Might Be Giants.
- She's been listening to Our Lady Peace way before they became popular in America.
- She can recite whole scens from "Invader Zim", "Trigun", and "Hellsing" from memory.
- She's majoring in graphic design in college due to her love of Adobe Photoshop 6.
- She can play the melody lines from "Wolly Muffler" by Harvey Danger, "Drunken Lullabies" by Flogging Molly, and "The Lumberjack Song" by Monty Python on her clarinet.
- She took her Playstation with her to college just so she can play the "Vampire Hunter D" game.
- She has an action figure of Spike form "Cowboy Bebop" standing right next to an action figure of Jesus on her computer monitor.

Well a cute geek girl is a bouns thus why we fantasize about cute geek girls but hell I'd settle for even for the geek chick on MTV's animated show Downtowners.

As for within reason I ment like something like a monster from a horror movie.

Really. I'd say that every time I go into the local comic store up here in Toronto (Silver Snail Comics, for you Torontonians), the store's customers are about 35% female. They tend to run the gamut from babe (halter top wearing blonde girls) to punks (girls with nose piercings and punkish hair) to conservatively dressed attractive girls (long dresses, long sleeves, but well kept).

Also, half the employees in there are females (of 5 employees, about 2.5 are female :p )

I'd get to know them, but somehow I think they'd find me a little too unexciting for their punkish heavy-metal listening lifestyles...

Had that, works pretty well.

- She can recite whole scenes from "Invader Zim", "Trigun", and "Hellsing" from memory.

Awesome

- She can play the melody lines from "Wolly Muffler" by Harvey Danger, "Drunken Lullabies" by Flogging Molly, and "The Lumberjack Song" by Monty Python on her clarinet.

Go clarinet players! It's so much fun to take songs and figure them out for clarinet.

- She has an action figure of Spike form "Cowboy Bebop" standing right next to an action figure of Jesus on her computer monitor.

That's one of the coolest things I've ever heard.

Well, if Ginger in "As told by Ginger" were humanized and aged about 8 years, I'd find her cute...but that's because she CAN BE a cute girl, rather than the "geek" the cartoonists try to pass her off as.

I guess you could say the lead heroine in "The Wild Thornberries" is kind of geeky in a truer sense...but she's still not too hard on the eyes...

(Interests snipped so I can concentrate on my shallow topic of aesthetic concerns :p )

--There are many proportionally attractive people under five feet tall. Well...this is truer for girls than guys. I've never seen a guy that short that girls could possibly find attractive, whereas short girls is more acceptable...darned sexist ideals...

--Frozen Garlic can be used to temper swelling from bad acne cases...Some acne cases aren't bad enough to cover up basic pretty features and contours of the face...

--If she doesn't need make-up or jewellery, she must be pretty okay to look at most of the time--if I saw a picture of her, I'm pretty sure I'd end up saying she has cute enough features to attract guys other than you. ;)

I think your are tring to actully validate the sterotypical geek.

I think tring to find the most ugly geek girls that are still passable is pointless. As the girl gets less cute there has to be something else or we will simply lose intrest and while pure looks will get us guys drooling if there is nothing else there the relationship becomes shallow.

Your examples are flawed since they are young and you don't know they might age well and become cute later. She Prime in Undergrads looks good.

Geek and ugly are not synonyms. It is just plain wrong to call an ugly redneck a geek.

Just like it's wrong to call someone you consider ugly a redneck, right? :p

Anyway, to clarify a statement I made earlier about the word "chick', I wasn't being "PC" in any way. I said what I said becuase when I hear the word "chick" used to describe a girl, I personally see that term as describing an immature whiner who's main interests are make-up, boys and Friends(not ment to denigrate any Friends fans here). The females here are at least girls, if not women. All are wonderfully mature, sensitive people who like animation and all that good geek stuff. Now, lets all get together, have a group hug, sign some Weezer and throw in LotR:FotR. :D

My best bud always called me a geek, which I found to be a compliment. Geesh, why don't other girls like Batman, Star Wars, Dungeons and Dragons, card/video games, comics and Weezer like I do? I'm majorly addicted to Weezer right now, they so rock, need to find a t-shirt though....

What's it called? I haven't tried that one. :P

A Jesus action figure? Does it have Super Soul-Saving Action or something like that?

Sure, but the whole idea of stereotypes is flawed. What is a "redneck"? It's a stereotype. Everyone uses them, so stereotypes have certain "definitions."

I'm not saying I agree with them (hence my bitterly sarcastic attitude all the way through), I'm saying that there is a general consensus with most people as to what a certain stereotype is. And where I am, geek=unattractive, weird, and not good-looking.

Yeah, stereotypes are majorly flawed. Oh well! eep...two people clinging to me! *clings to Weatherman* woo, well spoken, Weezer and LOTR!!! group hug sounds like a plan to me *huggles*

Awww man, we gotta share? :p OK, I can do that. *GROUP HUGGLES* Any other geeks can join in, if you're willing to show yourselves.

*EYES THE ROOM FOR OTHER GEEKS* Mr. Gates, that means you. Get over here!

I agree but what I'm saying is those of us here saying we want a geek girl are talking personallity wise and would settle for a average looking girl even somewhat less in terms of looks yet we fantasize for both looks and geekness
