A new episode of Futurama premieres tonight at 10PM Eastern on Comedy Central. This week, Professor Farnsworth creates a one-way time machine. According to the creators, this episode is the "Emmy shot"...

"If you don't watch it, someone else will."

Yes indeed.

I think Fry's be a little late. By 6,990 years.

That's the problem with one-way time travel: 20-20 hindsight.

Looks like The Terminator franchise's prediction of technological domination was a few years off.

So I guess what they said about the fifth great and bountiful Giraffe empire was true.

Now, I'm wondering if time and years could go that far in real life? Or would everything restart?

The one time he didn't mean to be late...

How did she do that with a laser gun and 9,999,996,990 years of erosion?

Hey, it's the end of the universe!! ...where's Milliways?

Hey! Time IS cyclical! That guy from the episode where Fry worked at Leela's old job was right!

Pilot episode reference!

"That was the old Fry. He's dead now."

And somewhere out there, the Doctor's being attacked by future savages.

Oh, and it reboots? Cheap move, universe. Cheap move.

They're stuck in an endless recursion of time!

You know, They could have made it so Fry never became his own grandfather.

I lol'd when the Professor eliminated Hitler. I yelled Score! :D
Leela's Message to fry was really heartwarming.:crying:
They wouldn't have to time-travel so much if it weren't for Bender wanting to leave the Year ??????? with woman.

They went so far in time that everything started over. Twice. Kudos to knocking out Hitler, but a huge "What were you thinking, Professor!?" when he took out Eleanor Roosevelt (though that was by accident). The episode had a good mix of humor and heartwarming (Leela's message).

Wonder what those cats are up to. And why are Amy and Nibbler immune? I'm tuning in next week.

Great episode, I said "awwww" out loud several times...

Yay, Fry and Leela finally went on an actual date at the end!

Great episode :anime:
My favorite parts are keep traveling to the future and Professor shoots Hitler XD

I wouldn't be surprised if time/the universe really does repeat like that.

It was an amusing episode....

I felt sorry for Fry.....it was kind of Bender's fault he was late for work (since he couldn't sleep) and his date with Leela (which he probably forgot about due to his lack of sleep)...
..and before he gets to make it up to her,he's roped into helping the Professor and Bender with the time machine (it was a nice touch that, many years later,Leela ends up getting his birthday card for her,and she realizes he didn't stand her up on purpose),which of couse ends up traveling thousands of years in time with nowhere to go but forward...

...I thought it was funny when the Professor referenced "Roswell That Ends Well"..."We can't go back in time,so you can't do anything disgusting, like sleeping with your grandmother"...Fry:...yeah,I don't wanna do that again!!!!

Also that Bender wanted to stay in the bleak, human warzone future, and got mad at the others for not wanting to stay....But,he got his revenge on them by not letting them stay in the all-female scientist future (where they could've gotten a reverse-time machine )...

It was interesting seeing how they got to the end of time and everything just restarted (and Leela even managed to leave a sweet message for Fry)...Of course, the Professor messes up,and they have to repeat the cycle a few times...

The ending was great,too...Fry ends up being on time for his date with Leela (although in the process,Fry,Professor, and Bender end up crushing their original selves with their machine ) ,and the episode ends with Bender burying the bodies.....

It was a good episode. Hermes head on a pogo stick was so classic Matt Groening. The only thing I've would've change (and please forgive for this) would be at the end where the Professor accidentally shooting John F. Kennedy instead of Eleanor Rossevelt when trying to kill Hitler (for a second time).

Roosevelt and Hitler shared the same era. Kennedy arrived on the scene decades later. Not only would the joke not have been funny (because somebody actually DID shoot Kennedy, you know) it wouldn't have made sense.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
