I was going to share this on the site that shall not be named but since I'm banned I figured I'd post it here so we can have actual intelligent and mature discussion about it.

That aside, I think this is a very good article that addresses the problems in the cartoon community and what is and isn't toxic/harmful.

Reading this makes me remember why people get called sjws as an insult. I understand there's legitimate problems in entertainment industries over creepy people doing creepy things, but getting worked up over things like some mildly suggestive drawings or porn of cartoons is ridiculous and a waste of time.

The specific people being targeted like Rebecca Sugar makes me think that the people doing this are actually trying to silence people they perceive as Social Justice Warriors. It's not coming from progressives themselves. I think it's appalling.

Teenagers going to toxic environments (4chan, 8chan) eventually feel like they belong to some kind of group and they start rallying each other and get carried away. Conservative teenagers become "Gamergate" etc., progressive teenagers become the people described in this thread.

Only visit 4chan / 8chan when you really want to know where the next shooting will be. Those websites are otherwise not worth anyone's visit...

I've learned THAT the hard way. No one should be listening to that site for ANYTHING. Especially, for example, with all the trolling, flame wars, and condescending attitudes towards anything/everything, whether you happen to like something or not on your own personal volition/opinion.

To be fair, Da Chans are dominated by weebs who have a hatebober for Western Animation and Comics/Graphic Novels in general, so it shouldn't be a surprise no one really likes or can properly discuss, let alone critique, either of those 2 mediums especislly all that well over there, ususlly unless it's for reasons definitely NSFW, anyway.

Conspiracy theories are always fun.

My so-called "theory" is more plausible than the idea that so-called progressives actually think Rebecca Sugar encourages pedophilia. We don't.
You can't possibly speak for every progressive. You're ignoring the basic human tendency to take things too far and you don't want to admit that sex negativity has followers on both the left and right.

Any specific examples of those on the left? Actual names? Bonus points if they are examples from the last ten years.

Why does it really matter whether these people truly are progressive or not? Not everyone agrees on the same issues, even if they're on the same "side". The real problem that people should have is making baseless accusations of someone that isn't based on any actual evidence.

I don't see names attached to that article. The person writing it doesn't actually say whether it's good or bad. You can find kooks for any opinion. It doesn't make them mainstream or speak for liberalism as a whole.

Point taken.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s
