"Drawn Together"-Episode 3-11-10-04

Good potential for character development, but I have a feeling it'll just resort to gay jokes.

Lowbrow gay jokes. I'm talking jokes so gross out and rude that even South Park probably wouldn't touch them.

On a Side note, ON one of the teasers for this episode, Xandir briefly appears with a Cartoon Hunter (Elmer Fudd?) and Hanna Barbera's Pink Panther Clone , who have their faces blurred out. Half-assed way to avoid a Lawsuit form Time Warner (Although Matt Groening has gotten away with little Warner Bros./Hanna Barbera character cameos in "The Simpsons", in the past, Including Huckleberry Hound and MArvin the Martian), or Homage to Reality Shows' blurring out faces of people who havne't signed releases, You Be The Judge.

Btw, Wouldn't It be Cool if Time Warner commisioned a Show that Starred all of their owned characters (not unlike the current Fridays! Opening).

And tonight's plot device is...a sewing machine!

...Did Ling Ling just sew up a television? MAD SKILLZ.

Does Spongebob have his hand on Xandir's ass? I think we found the REAL gay person in the house :p

Dammit, Ling Ling is going to be working mindlessly for the whole episode once again, missing out on all the action

...Does this count as a lowbrow gay joke?

Censored Snagglepuss and Elmer Fudd!

BIZARRO!

Quick, someone translate this song!

LING LING KILLS ASH! That got a chuckle out of me.

...Pac-Man is gay?

...OK, that joke was just BAD. That might be a low point in penis jokes, quite honestly.

Hah, Xandir gets dumped after coming out of the closet. =\

"This could take a while." My thoughts exactly. It'll take a while to get rid of 50 lives =\

Clara and Xandir go psycho on Spongebob!

"I keep things there so I can pull them out for comic effect!"

Spanky's screwed.

...Asian stereotype joke?

Wow, was that all of Robin Williams's acting career in 15 seconds?

The character is a lowbrow gay joke but they're actually being original so far and not just resorting to the "usual gays are not the same as straights" jokes.

EDIT: Oh, here the lame jokes come. The Bizzaro thing was great though.

I think I'm in lowbrow gay joke heaven. :anime:

Am I a bad person for finding this hilarious? :(

i've loved this episode so far. Many of the jokes have actually been hilarious (especially the video game jokes involving Xandir).

and underpaid Asian child laborers can transform into a mech. I need to remember that one. =P

nickwhiz- yes. yes that was.

any idea what was the last thing he was in? aside from this movie poster I saw with him in it? =/

these guys are most likely going to go to hell btw. the ending? -.-;;
(i'm joking of course. yeesh. talk about going for the shock factor)

Heh, Ling Ling actually does something! PWNAGE.

dawnyoshi: Here you go

Wow...what just happened? The Genie came out of the closet, then Xandir's archnemesis steals him away?

Now he's on a neverending quest to save...his...BOYFRIEND!!!

OMG IT'S GOD, with a repeat of the Spongebob penis joke? O.......K......

MANY levels better than tonight's South Park. I might actually continue watching this show.

......

Wow. This episode was a comedy rollercoaster for me, going from great stuff to absolute crap.

I laughed out loud. I groaned. I began to laugh but realized that the joke really wasn't funny at all, I groaned even louder, while rolling my eyes.

The wood-beast ritual was a stroke of brilliant weirdness. Everything involving Spanky & Ling-ling was entertaining and the ending to their subplot was just plain cute (with the honor hat and everything). Their solution to the shoe problem was hilarious.

Everything else was between "meh" and really creepy.

The show continues to be a mixed bag, but this was definitely better than last week. Lord Slashstab's appearance, Xandir's conversation with his girlfriend (As expected, she was a Zelda lookalike), and the NYPD Blue/muffin bit had me in stitches, and Ling Ling was genuinely adorable with his ballad and honor hat.

the ending of the LL spanky indeed hilarious.

but the ending...i mean, YEESH! -.-

It was funny, but I bet more people will be offended by it ( : puts on riot gear: ). I liked the beginning with the collection of the rings along with the cameos by Genie, (Ms.) Pac-Man, and Bizarro. And even though I didn't like the subplot with Ling Ling and Spanky, I did like the mecha transformation. And was it just me, or did Ling Ling seem nicer than usual?

I'll give it a B/B-. About the same level as last week's episode.

To save my boyfriend!

I liked this one. After being meh on last week this was a big pickup. I never thought the gay jokes got too horrible (most were at least funny), the Spanky/Ling Ling sideplot worked in a weird way, and Wooldoor got some screentime and development.

SO FAR:
Episode 3 > Episode 1 > Episode 2

...do these episodes have names?

I think anyone could say that. I tuned in out of curiousity, and I must say this was better than the first one, but still not much of a show. While I did like the video game parodies, I think they had more misses than hits. And I mean misses like all the penis stuff and gay tests.

The Vietnamese mech reminded me of the Giganto-Baby that was in an Invader Zim episode. And I know that when the penis came out it was censored, but I was thinking about a Chappelle's Show sketch "Kneehigh Park" where one of the puppets had something wrong with his and he literally showed it to people...and it was uncensored. There must be some rule.

One positive thing did come out of this - during the credits they say they'd be playing a Kevin Smith movie uncensored and uncut (despite being at 1am EST). Good, since his movies really become unwatchable when they're butchered up by the censors.

The Ling ling Sweat Shop was pretty funny to me. It was an interesting story about Xandir being gay. (Though penis in the hole thing was awful IMO)

"I'm gonna steal this lamp for no apparent reason!"< it was funny that the evil wizard due just zoom on by on that monologe screen or whatever you can being that room where you talk to the camera.

The toenail clipping joke at the beginning was amazing. It's the little things...

This one was better than last week's though I'm unsure if I thought it was better than the first ep. I think sometimes I didn't know whether to be shocked or to just laugh, but I think even when I was shocked I DID laugh so that's a good thing in my book.I missed that joke at the beginning. Looks like I'm catching the rerun on Saturday.
