Craig Kilborn Leaving Late Late Show

First Daily Show, now Late Late Show. Looks like Craig doesn't want to be tied down to anything.

They're actually going to keep the show on the air if he leaves? These late night talk shows are a dime a dozen.

never thought he was that funny anyway. probably realized he could never compete with the phenom known as conan o'brien

I liked him being in late night...it made him easier to avoid.

Well, just as long as he doesn't come back to SportsCenter.

Well, that sucks, I liked him alot more than I will ever like Conan O' Brian, or Jay Leno. He just can't stay on a single show can he!?!?!

They are keeping The Late Late Show cause Letterman's contract says Worldwide Pants gets the show after The Late Show. Maybe he will pick Mitch Hedberg, one of his favorite comedians. It wouldn't be straying too far from stand-up.

This is some surprising news, I certainly wasn't expecting it. I guess I'll miss him, even though I regularly watched Conan instead of him, I thought he was a good late night host..

And depending on who CBS brings in.. things have to be looking great for Conan right now. I wonder what Craig will go on to do now.

Eh.. no biggie, I never found him to be funny anyway (John Stewart was a godsend for Daily Show)

Well, uh...I just hope he doesn't start showing up on shows I like. :p I just find the guy comes off as being egocentric more than anything. The "5 Questions" thing is decent, but I only see it when there's someone on I like, which is the only time I ever watch the show.

...

Huh? I didn't hear you, I was too busy watching Conan.

Kilborn

I wonder if Viacom is having second thought about allowing Kilborn to co-anchor Sportscenter(Disney) on Sunday.

memphis is cool.

and btw.. don't be too down, talk show hosts do move on, to be replaced by anew, once in a blue moon. after all.. even carson moved on, didn't he?

John Stewart and Conan are more important that Kilborn. I never even liked the Daily Show until he left.

Amen to that. Kilborn just sucks as basically everything so what about he tries to hmmm, act?!?!?!?!

I know that the press release says that Kilborn left on his own accord, but I'm not exactly sure of that. I mean, look at all of the other late-night shows out there. Each one of them has a certain niche that they are catering to except for Kilborn, who is simply known as "the guy Jon Stewart replaced on The Daily Show. CBS needs something battle Conan's "geek niche" and Jimmy Kimmel's "jock niche," which is why I think the next host will be black. There hasn't been a host on network television to fill the "urban niche" since Arsenio Hall quit, and I know that there people out there who want it filled.

Sinbad tried with Vibe, as did Keenan Ivory Wayans. Both failed.

You know, I actually did think Craig Kilborn was funny, funnier even than Jon Stewart. The problem was he was an egocentric ass. I remember on the Daily Show when he had a guest on who wasn't really famous he would come off as a real ass and showed that he really didn't respect them at all. Jon Stewart always shows respect for his guests, proving that he is ultimately a better host.

I won't miss Craig that much. I only watched when he had a particular guest I wanted to see and that was about it. Maybe it was the whole "minimalist" thing he had going on—for the longest time he had no announcer, never had a band, had very few "recurring" crew members to have fun with and I never felt like had much of a monologue either.

The Late Late Show was revamped quite a bit when Tom Snyder left and I'm expecting/hoping for that again.

Why doesn't Letterman just expand to 2 hours? At least just for a couple of months.

When Kilborn left The Daily Show, his going away present was a mirror. If that doesn't say egotism, I don't know what does.

What I liked about him on the Daily Show was that he did the fake news anchor thing very well. Stewart doesn't really do that so much, which loses some of the appeal the show originally had. I'd agree that Stewart is a much better host, but he often comes off as a comedian talking about the news, whereas Kilborn came off as a comedian playing the part of a news anchor.
