CN Schedule Updates

I think the "Cartoon Network ends at 8" change is the worst thing they've ever done, besides adding live-action shows to CN. Why not have Cartoon Network end at 10 or 11 like they used to?

That doesn't answer his question. That article just talks about putting on FOX reruns over AS originals or Toonami shows. When CN expanded to 10pm during the holidays, RS and AT reruns did better than King of the Hill did at 9pm. Heck, I've seen ADULT ratings for Star Wars and ThunderCats (the latter which they consider a "failure") do better than KotH.

EDIT: In a followup to:

As for weekday mornings, SDMI and movies are still on... but apparently, it seems to only be for the week of April 7. On the 14th, Teen Titans Go! airs from 8:30am-10am. There seems to be a bunch of comedy stacks on the 14th, but with no Adventure Time at 6pm, it's most likely a special schedule to promote the premiere of Clarence. The schedule is:

8:30-10am - Teen Titans Go!
10-11:30 - Regular Show
11:30-1 - Adventure Time
1-2 - Uncle Grandpa
2-3 - Johnny Test
3-4 - Gumball
4-6 - Regular Show
7pm - Clarence

That is mostly permanent for weekdays, pre-primetime, because on Tuesday, the schedule is almost the same, except 4-5 is Adventure Time.

So it looks like Tom and Jerry Tales is off the schedule, and Looney Tunes is relegated to weekend mornings. For the week of April 7, SDMI and movies remain though.

Well, I thought it did, because the FOX reruns are doing very well. We don't know how well KOTH will do compared to how the 8pm hour did for another week. I don't think [as] does this if they were really bad. At least the Sunday lineup looks decent with RC and Venture Bros, which would have been great if it got an 8pm spot weeknights now that they do have 8pm ~~

He asked about AS starting early in general, not what shows are airing on it.

I still uphold my idea from long ago that they should use the extra hour to air a half hour of SG:C2C and perhaps (select episodes of) Home Movies.

Something that's not King of the Hill, but can easily fit into both CN's target audience and AS's.

Yet another reason I'm upset that they didn't get The Simpsons. If they had gotten it, I'd probably be more excited for the expansion and sort of see it as an excuse to flaunt it.

TDPI is debuting next month.

I think it's the spring/easter schedule they make every year. It lasted for two weeks the previous years before the old schedule returned. It also cut down the classic series in favor of new comedies. It's likely the same we're seeing here, so I'm expecting our usual schedule to return again on April 28th.

Forgot about that, the Spring Break schedule. Although, the funny thing is Spring Break for the kids is actually this coming Monday :P So they're going to miss it.

April 16, however, has another special schedule. It's using the Spring Break schedule from 6am-1pm, but from 1pm-5:30pm is a NinjaGo marathon. Also, one week only, a new TTGo! will air at 6pm that day. The new full hour of NinjaGo will air at 6:30pm with a Clarence encore taking 7:30pm. I'm not sure if any of that is permanent (the premiere thread has Johnny Test at 6pm for April - Shadow updated the NinjaGo thing, but left a conflict).

Okay... so I'm gonna be a little late in reporting what the rest of the week looks like for Spring Break. Zap2it is updating and won't let me go past 7 days anymore, TVGuide.com is using ancient placeholder schedules that still have shows like Grojband and Scan2Go, my phone's listings won't let me go past 7 days either, my login for my provider's website isn't working now, and TitanTV seems to have replaced my listings beyond this Friday with Cartoon Network Canada's listings (it has shows like MetaJets and Chop Socky Chooks). It's like every possible way of seeing it is now blocked.

I guess I'll have to check it directly on the TV once it's available.

Scratch that, I forgot about Yahoo!'s TV Listings, which actually replicated Zap2it's former grid! Yay!

So Thursday's schedule uses the same Spring Break schedule, only with another NinjaGo marathon from 4-6pm and a Clarence encore at 6pm. The latter may be permanent.

As for Friday, the schedule is the same, but with the T&J Show encore at its normal time of 2pm, another Clarence encore at 2:30pm, NinjaGo encores from 3-4pm before the Pizza Steve movie (Diary of a Wimpy Kid). Post-movie Pizza Steve Night:

6pm - Regular Show (replaces Steven Universe / Uncle Grandpa)
6:30pm - Clarence (replaces Adventure Time / Regular Show)
7:00 - Steven Universe
7:15 - Uncle Grandpa
7:30 - Teen Titans Go!
7:45 - Johnny Test

Something about this tells me CN isn't too confident in the Tom and Jerry Show. Lack of promos, early timeslot and non-inclusion in Pizza Steve night give it away.

Amen, dude. I personally think AS takes up too much of other time.

I'm a little shocked by the lack of promos, too, given that they've been hyping the crap out of it online, but then again, they did do the same thing to Beware the Batman and we saw how that turned out. Then again, comedy shows do get better treatment, and the amount of encore presentations it's getting might be proof of that. Even with Scaredy Squirrel, which they pulled from primetime altogether, they still continued it. With some acquired comedies, they seem to give them star treatment with little promotion.

Plus, its lack of inclusion in the Pizza Steve night might just be for Spring Break.

EDIT: April 12 has a new schedule, including more movies. Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties will air at 11am with back to back Scooby-Doo movies at 4pm and 6pm (Monsters Unleashed and The Mystery Begins). Both Scooby movies will reair at 3pm and 5pm the next day.

EDIT: April 19 gets another change. Looks like the Saturday at 11am movies might be a permanent thing, as Diary of a Wimpy Kid airs there. That night, however, a NinjaGo marathon will air from 3:30-5:30 leading into The Wizard of Oz. Clarence also gets another encore slot at 10am.

April 20th gets another change too.

10am-11am - NinjaGo
11am - The Smurfs (2011 movie)
1-2 NinjaGo
2-3 Teen Titans Go!
3-4 Gumball
4:00 - Tom and Jerry Show encore
4:30 - The Wizard of Oz
7pm - Clarence encore
7:30 - T&J show encore

Wow, they're not pulling back on the T&J Show encores. However, I'm not sure what if any of this will be permanent due to NinjaGo being a one time thing along with the length of Wizard of Oz.

I guess there's also the possibility that they're so confident in Tom and Jerry that they figured that it doesn't need promotion. At least it airs Saturday AM same thing with Clarence. I found these SatAM encores convenient.

Probably has something to do with the lengh of The Wizard of Oz.

He already updated this, but it seems like SDMI and movies was indeed a placeholder, or just a last minute change. NinjaGo will be taking the 8:30 hour. Of course, it's only this week before Spring Break kicks in.

One other thing I wanted to point out: Pizza Steve night is different this Friday:

7pm - Teen titans Go!
7:15 - Johnny Test
7:30 - T&J Show

It changes again next Friday:

6pm - Regular Show
6:30 - Clarence
7pm - Steven Universe
7:15 - Uncle Grandpa
7:30 - TTGo!
7:45 - Johnny Test

Looks like Annoying Orange and MAD are off the schedule.

Although some of those RS airings may be because of Skips' Story.

Also, I think the weekend (including Saturday) at 11am movies may be permanent.
