"Clone High" Coming to DVD in September....in Canada

Clone High got cancelled here due to people protesting the portrayal of Ghandi (the potesters apparently don't understand the concepts of "irony" or "humor".) it never got a full run, it got cancelled after the basketball episode.
I still think it would of been cancelled by the end of season one though even if it wasn't due to the Ghandi potrayal due to the fact it was on MTV, who recently have had a bad track record with animated shows (3 South, Spider-Man 2003, etc). The Ghandi thing though did stop reruns from being shown of it though after the basketball episode really. It was a good show though and I really wish that America could also be getting the DVD.

What's Clone High?
Ignore that.

Even without seeing an episode, you'd never find me asking such a question.

Clone High is an animated series. You should read through the thread so that nobody has to spend time answering that question, which has already been answered.

Never mind I read the plot but you don't have to be mean just because I asked a question, sheesh.

But, it was uneducated and uninformed... and out of place with the rest of the discussion.

However, this is me with a headache. I partially apologize. But, I don't take what I said back. It's just like a partial refund. They give you some money back, but don't really care for your cogitations. Well, not just like a partial refund.

Out!

I was only asking a question but you don't have to take it seriously.

Stop it.

Keeping the thread on topic, amazon.ca doesn't yet list this for sale. I also noticed Bob and Margaret season two was coming out, but no listing for that on amazon.ca as well. Was Bob and Margaret season one released?

You know, I did some digging and found NOTHING. So, I'm guessing it wasn't... maybe a rights issue holding it back?

They have Undergrads for rent, and that's Canada-only IIRC, so I imagine they will.

Borders is good about getting these things as well from what I've heard.

I got Undergrads from Wal-Mart so I believe that wasn't Canadian only.

Still, great news.

Borders charges wayyyy too much. I got the Smallville DVD (the single one, the Canada only DVD) for like 24.99 from them. What a horrible mistake that was! That was so over priced, it wasn't funny!

I bought Undergrads from Best BUy, i don't think it was a canada release only, that one doesn't have teletoon logo on it.

That's why it got canned? Mohondas Ghandi was my favorite character on that show.

I thought it got cancelled because MTV doesn't know how to hold on to an animated series (see: Downtown, Undergrads, 3-South, Spy Groove, Spider-Man). Ever since they ended Daria, MTV hasn't kept a cartoon on the air longer than 2 days. And I liked Spy Groove.

It's about time!

Oh man, I'm so psyched! I've never forgiven MTV for screwing the show up, but now I won't have to worry because it's going to be on DVD! I'm gonna import this one, for sure.

And since somebody asked how well it did in the US, how successful was the show in Canada? Obviously not enough to warrant more than 13 episodes (though that could be because of MTV's sucky treatment of the show in the states), but did it have some sort of success?

As a semi-Canadian-produced show, ratings were not really the decisive factor of its fate. But a show has to be a MAJOR ratings bonanza for it to get another season made for Canada only. And even then the budget would be slashed considerably and there would probably be major recasts to boot.

...But yeah, it certainly did air all 13 episodes made. Many, many times. Though, curiously, not for the past year or so.

So, did anyone get their hands on the disc yet? I haven't made it down to the store yet. I'm not even sure if any retailers are carrying it.

I picked up Clone High: The Complete First Season at Wal-Mart (it was actually the only place in my area that had it). Despite a sizeable graphic saying "Not recommend for Kids" it was jammed in the kids DVD section sandwiched between some TMNT 2003 and Spongebob DVDs.

I've gone through alot of the set so far and it's not bad. All 13 episodes are here and they're in great shape.

I do have a few complaints about the set itself though. The extras total about five minutes and that's it. I would've loved to have seen some commentary on this series. The cover art slip is actually too small for the double-sized amaray case also which I thought was quite odd and this was the same on every copy there. Also there is a forced trailer for The Detour block on Teletoon that you can't skip or fast forward through. It's about a minute long but I found it very annoying.

The only other thing is how the episodes are split on the 2 disc set. The first disc is episodes #1 - 5 and that's it with disc #2 having episodes # 6 - 13 plus the extras. Very odd.

Still I'm really pleased to have one of my favorite shows on DVD. I wish there was more in the set itself but having this cartoon is great! It should be a pretty easy set to find and will only set you back $20 or so. I was surprised how low the price was on it. Despite my gripes I still recommend picking it up.

Has anyone picked up this set? I got it and devoured it. A nice collection for this great, short-lived series. Thankfully I'm Canadian and had no problem getting it, but have any Americans tried finding it or ordering it?

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
