Christina Miller is leaving Cartoon Network by the end of the year.

Well this is shocking. I didn't expect her to leave so soon. I bet cartoon community will be throwing the party after hearing the news.

What does that mean for CN ?

I hope this means we will eventually get a new CN logo :D

Yes, she has had the shortest presidency so far.
Betty Cohen - 1992-2001
Jim Samples - 2001-2007
Stuart Snyder - 2007-2014
Christina Miller - 2014-2019

Honestly Christina Miller was a great president to CN and here’s why:

1: She removed live-action originals/programs from Cartoon Network. (Because the name of the channel is CARTOON Network)

2: Even though she was NOT responsible for the schedules. Her employees wanted to see what the kids like and wanted to see more of (TTG and Gumball)

3: Christina knew cable was going to die, so she’s heavily pushed the VOD/CN app which was a smart idea.

Overall, she wasn’t that bad. She was a great president. However the Cartoon Community didn’t see her that well as one.

Yowza, that's unexpected.

I never found her a bad president of CN through her tenure - most tr ly because I did my research on her and the bad decisions at the network for the past decade weren't by her. She really did make some decisions that benefit the network (and its viewers), and some great, well-beloved CN shows were created under her.

I with her the best of luck, and wish her interim successor Michael Ouweleen and her official successor the best in the role.

(And to those over the years who treated her horribly for just doing her job without merit or common sense, [to put it mildly] shame on you.)

Quite a shocking announcement since we're about a month away from 2020.

Despite the TTG scheduling problems and the reboots, I really think Cartoon Network has been a decent channel since 2014. Most CN shows are of pretty good quality (although that's not to say I'm a fan of all of them). Plus, I feel like with new hits like Mao Mao and Infinity Train, Cartoon Network is trying to increase their programming diversity so that the channel isn't plagued with just comedy or slice of life cartoons. Unlike another particular orange kid's network whose name begins with an N...

It'll be interesting to see how the 2020s play out minus Miller. I hope it's for the better.

i think she was a good president of the network , approved some good shows and did a good job running the network.

So what about TTG? Is it ever gonna end? Will ThunderCats Roar take its place? Will CN ever return to its former glory? (I kinda don't like Toonami on Adult Swim, I wish it was back on CN, mainly because of - you guessed it - Swayzak) Will BOOMERANG ever return to its former glory? Come on. I want Birdman back.

CHRISTINA MILLER IS GONE

Okay on a serious note, I don't actually hate Christina Miller. She's done good things, she's done bad things. I'm not the biggest fan of her tenure, but honestly, it's hard to pass judgment on her when we don't even know which decisions she's responsible for or how much influence the higher-ups have on her. Keep in mind that Snyder was removed because he didn't see eye-to-eye with Turner's then new management. Miller may have very well been a "puppet" president, for lack of a better word, that they knew would put up less resistance.

This insight is.. interesting. She was asked to stay but chose to leave. I wonder why?

It might be for the same reason that Richard Plepler resigned as the chairman and CEO of HBO: less autonomy after the merger. The move of practically every upcoming CN original to HBO Max is a good sign of that being the case.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Athreya STILL has a job...

Keep in mind that she also was responsible for getting Boomerang its own streaming service, which was a remarkable idea considering how several properties were not getting run on the main network any longer.

How else was I going to see the cringe Yogi shows of the '80s?

Does the app have Birdman and the Galaxy Trio? I NEED my Birdman fix!
