C&C - The Boondocks - "Smokin With Cigarettes" [6/5]

Loved how Riley running full speed wasn't enough to get distance between himself and Lamilton.

Is Huey going to have a single episode this season?

Huey is the straight man, like Stan and Kyle from SP. Usually their episodes involve their reactions to the crazier characters. Meaning they're not always as funny.

 some people on Twitter complaining about how this Boondocks ep isn't funny. Some episodes are not funny for a reason, of course there is the occasional chuckle, but overall just watch the episode to get to the message.

on another note... why did they have to end it with Cigawett! :anime:

People hate when a comedy show makes them think.

He had the kickball episode three weeks ago.

The kickball episode was kind of his.

Riley seems to be the focus next week, too.

And congrats to Riley for winning his first fight.

At least this episode breaks the pattern of episodes that is "Episode where Huey plays a role in some way" followed by "Episode where Huey is ignored completely".

That.....was kinda scary.
The funniest parts were Grandad's reaction to everything, and how passive Lamilton's grandma is.
The ending did feel rushed, and that's what made it creepy.
I love what Grandad said: "Well, that's that!"

Why do people who are being chased run to the top of a building? Where are they going to do afterwards?

Hell No

I got on Riley's case last week for his lack of fighting prowess, but he definitely acquitted himself tonight. And no matter how many bad/dumb things Riley's done since the series started, in no way is he as bad as the fat nut job in this episode. Nothing wrong with that kid a lobotomy won't fix.

This really wasn't a laugh-out-loud ep like last week - actually, this was probably the most unsettling show of the series to date, what with the dog incident and the not-too-subtle threats towards Riley. Granddad tried with his Buffy-esque approach, though, telling Huey to get his silver bullets, holy water and stakes ;) (Then Huey went and actually got the gun.) And thanks to Uncle Ruckus for inadvertently giving Riley the opening he needed.

Dr. Doomis was a hoot, though. Just that maniacal look on his face when he broke Riley's grip on Lamilton and let him fall; and then again when he leaped off the roof and landed on that fat f---. ("Somebody get my grandmother!")

Crazy people. Tonight almost made Ed Wuncler III look sane. (On second thought, no.)

Dang this episode right here wuz too good Lamilton fat-self based off that real kid. I swear my mama would've whupped that fat-slob. Riley did'nt win that fight he jus throw Lamilton off dat building he did'nt win so Riley aint won notin. Lamilton fat nasty self grandma need to use da belt on him. Huey too fresh with his Laptop.

Good with the Halloween parodies, that was great. Another solid episode.

Great episode though I was expecting him to die in the end and join Stinkmeaner in Hell.

This episode was not very funny, and by that, I not suggesting that the episode was unfunny, but merely that except for a few lines here and there, such as Riley jabs about Lamilton's weight towards the end, there just weren't a lot of laughs this time around. This episode was more suspenseful and shocking than it was funny. Hopefully, we'll get a more comedy focused episode next week.

OK,just saw the Sears Tower. They are definitely in the Chicago area. I thought they were in Maryland.

Dr. Doomis? Halloween reference, fool.

They can't be. Because when Robert's old WWII friend died they had to fly to Chicago. And the episode regarding Barrack, they drove to DC. Maybe they made a mistake?

Here's something interesting I found...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Caesar

According to the Wikipedia page Caesar is supposed to make his animated debut in next week's episode. Of course, it's Wikipedia and it doesn't have a source listed, but so we'll have to wait and see if it's accurate (and no, I haven't edited the page).

Lol where would you feel the need to go if your back exit was blocked by the oncoming threat?

It looked like their was stairs going down, thinking they were on the second floor.
Though that could've led to the basement.

It's a little weird to see this after the real kid this is based on Web Redemption, but it's a great parody.

No kidding. This got pretty dark and serious, but it's good for a show to push its set boundaries and see what it can do that it hasn't before. McGruder actually created real tension, in a cartoon. Seth sure can't do that.

Apparently the rushed ending with the people on the roof is referencing a movie I haven't seen ("Juice").

A question I never asked on Sunday: how did that one guy know what urine and hot sauce tastes like?

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
