"Bob's Burgers" is Getting a Movie

We got a plotline!

(credit goes to the official 20th Century Studios website)

"The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob's Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong."

Damn, we've gotten more info and footage of the movie in these past few days than in the four years since the movie was announced.

Finally!!!

Better version of this:

We now have a trailer!

I admit this is a very old school trailer that doesn't give away anything story wise but how it's trying to pretend it's something else, the quick cutting and music feel very old school trailer not the kind of trailer you see nowadays. And hey some of the shots certainly feel very movie like plus honestly I am just glad to have a full on 2D movie again on the big screen. I guess a fair amount of major studios still won't do this but glad FOX is at least willing to take that risk on Bob's Burgers as it's obviously earned it.

Bob’s Burgers has fallen out of my favor as a show but seeing that this movie is 2D animated and not CGI I think I’ll see it.

Animation looks great, well worth the long wait!

Ah, so a summer mystery adventure centering around an anniversary for Wonder Wharf. I'm sold.

So, this movie, as it is rated PG-13, is in line with my proposal to repurpose 20th Century Animation as a studio for adult animated films, with its remaining family-friendly IPs being transferred either to Walt Disney Animation Studios or Pixar.

Likewise, live-action content from 20th Century Studios should be limited to mature fare.

PG-13 movies from the flagship Disney label would only be based on existing Disney-branded IPs (like POTC) or telling stories about the history of Disney (like Saving Mr. Banks) going forward.

The rest of the PG-13/R-rated fare would fall under Lucasfilm or Marvel Studios.

The movie began production at 20th Century Animation before the Disney sale, so this has no bearing on any future plans. I can't imagine any adult animated film not based on an existing 20th TV Animation program ever again being released by Disney at all other than cases such as Incredibles 2 which are aimed in part for adults but are suitable to release under the Disney brand.

No, I don't agree to absorb Blue Sky Studios contents into Disney and Pixar, so it is recognizable for Blue Sky Studios to be part of 20th Century's property.

Not necessarily, Disney may own 20th Century but both are operating separately and it doesn't have to be mature.

Not necessarily, PG-13 movies are warranted if new IP is part of Disney brand.

R-rated films usually goes to 20th Century, even Deadpool. Most if not all Marvel movies under Disney's property are PG-13 or less.

The MCU Deadpool movie is Marvel Studios lock stock and barrel and will be R-rated.

I think 20th Century Animation should try making adult animated movies not tied to a 20th Television Animation series. There needs to be more adult animated movies not tied to adult animated TV shows from the other major studios as well (like Sony did with Sausage Party). Maybe collaborate with Marvel on an R-rated animated Daredevil movie?

Yes, they could be produced in-house at Marvel and carried under 20th Century banner rather than Disney.

Sorry but I don't like that idea of yours.

When the Disney-Fox merger was announced, I envisioned what became 20th Century Studios as a replacement for Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures, as Disney's brand for mature films,
