Beloved enemy

What examples can we come up with of a hero and a villain being in love, or in lust, in the comics? Here's what I've come up with.

Golden Age Batman and Golden Age Catwoman marrying and settling down, even having a child, Helena, who would become the original Huntress after her mother's death.

Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott) marrying Rose / Thorn. The tragic bipolar figure would leave after the wedding night, pregnant with Jade & Obsidian; after which GL would marry another old enemy, Molly Mayne, aka the original Harlequin.

Silver Age Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) and Star Sapphire (Carol Ferris). Enough said.

Speedy raising Lian, his child with Cheshire.

So, that's what I have. You?

There's also the Batman/Talia relationship. She even had his kid!

Just about any X-Men relationship probably falls into this category, since they've all pretty much been in love with one another at one time or another, and they're all flip-floppin' from good to bad.

In the Gargoyles comics (and cartoon), Goliath and Demona had a thing, though that was mostly before she went all crazy-bad.

This may not exactly count, since this is a couple unique to a cartoon based on a comic book, but in X-Men: Evolution Shadowcat had an off-again/on-again romance with Brotherhood member Avalanche.

There's also Nico and Alex from Runaways. Alex loved good-girl Nico, though he still planned on betraying their teammates and annihilating humanity.

Beast Boy and Terra.

Back when Phil Urich was the Green Goblin, he met Joystick and was in lust with her. That was a fun issue.

Dr. Octopus almost married Aunt May, but Spider-Man stopped this from happening. They even put it in the cartoon.

If there's ever another Doc Ock Spidey movie, this would be such a great plot; they'd just have to portray Alfred Molina as older, or May as a little younger.

-Daredevil and Elektra. Their relationship reminds me of Batman and Catwoman.
-Punisher and Elektra. In Marvel Knights 2099 Frank and Elektra's daughter carries on The Punisher legacy and tries to pass it to her son before she dies of cancer.

Howdy,

The Giffen/DeMatteis/Abrahams Hero Squared comics use the hero/villain attraction thing between Captain Valor and Caliginous, who form a romantic rectangle with the parallel universe Milo and Stephie.

It's also a stretch, but Dr. Strange and Clea technically started off on opposite sides, though Clea abandoned her father Dormammu's side pretty quick.

Moving away from Superhero comics (since my knowledge about them is pretty limited) I'd like to mention a few example of comics in which the hero and the villain seem to get along pretty well.

Canardo & Clara from 'Une Enquete de l'inspecteur Canardo' by Sokal

Corto Maltese & Rasputin from 'Corto Maltese' ("One day, Corto, I'll kill you!'' "And one night, I'll kill you").

I've also read a 'Mickey Mouse' comic in which Mickey and Pete co-operates.

Ok, with the expection of Clara & Canardo none of these guys lusted after each other but I couldn't remember any choises that would have been more accurate to the original poster's request.

Magneto rescued Rogue after she went through the Seige Perilous (Uncanny X-Men #269) and she recuperated with him for a while. (This was after Magneto left the New Mutants, but before he became a full-fledged villain again; this also happened before Rogue got involved with Gambit.) There was some sexual tension between them (her powers were temporarily turned off) but nothing came of it. It did plant the seed for Magneto and Rogue being a married couple in the AoA timeline, however.

Bella Donna, that's right. She was part of the Assassins Guild, whereas Gambit was part of the Thieves Guild.

Yeah, but I think a lot of that was Jan leading him on so she'd find out what he was up to. His feelings for her were geniune.
