AVP 'R' Rated version

When the movie first came out in theatres there were plans to release an R Rated version on DVD...any news if this is going to happen or are we stuck with the 'family friendly' PG-13 version?

I don't know. I've read different rumors, that Paul Anderson was satisfied with the PG-13, that he wanted to do an R-rated Director's Cut, etc. I have no idea what to believe anymore. A friend of mine saw several of the deleted scenes and said, for the most part, they all sucked and didn't really add much to the movie. Personally, I think the movie is just fine as it is.
