Anime Industry Worth Over 4 Billion Dollars!

I read this article at Anime News Network which states the anime industry is worth $4,359,110,000.

I have to say I'm impressed. I thought the anime industry would be in the millions, not in the billions.

Hm..guess its not that small after all. Thing that suprised me is that videos/dvds don't even account for half of all earnings. Mostly toys, t.v. and whatever else they listed there. Big suprise..thought they would make more money off those overpriced dvds *by my standards at least*

I think it partially involves the "bigger" titles, but it also involves the tenacity and "love" (if you can call it that) certain companies has towards anime and the otaku community. Then again, if most of that money is from merchandising, it is sort of obvious what would take up the lions-share there.....

No...we can't....we have to have union first. Some of us are not allowed to form a union by law so there that goes...besides they might use a gaint robot to stomp on us or some girl to shoot love beams(?) at us...that would kinda of suck

I'm not a big spender on anime (I download more often on a modem ), but lets say I buy two dvds a week on average...thats $2080 a year..

That's a lot of money to spend on anime a year. I only spend probably just over $100 to $150 a year on it....if that.
