Broadcast Order
: Season 1, Episode 6
Production Order: Season 1, Episode 5

Writers: Sean Clements & Dominic Dierks
Director: Jennifer Coyle

A new episode airs tonight at 8:30 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Allen's search for his biological mother spurs dreams of his parents' everlasting happiness.

How ironic that Jonah Hill's hosting the animation domination block the week that his show on said block gets axed.

"My mom was nice too...before she got murdered."

"God Ian, that was like 3 months ago...get over it!"

So wrong. Yet I laughed.

Jeremy should just stay gone. Allen and Richard deserve each other.

I think Shelia talked for all the viewers out there at the end.

"You are all awful people."

That mom is clearly the best character this show ever had. She made Allen apologize to her teacher, and orders him what to do. She would make this family right again, but of course she disappears. Never to be seen again. I don't know whether or not Jeremy's gonna be respected again, that never seemed to be fully explained.

Well not only is the show cancelled (some say it's a rumor but if Jonah Hill is saying it's true then I think we have an all but guarantee it is) but Allen tricked Jeremy into coming back, and Richards's response to Jeremy's demand was "of course you would say that" meaning "no of course that's not going to happen". So yeah expect him still to be treated like dirt... in the episode or so left of this show.

I do appreciate this epiosde for switching things up a bit. Not just for actually introducing a character who dosen't stand the bullcrud Allen says but for actually doing dfferent things with some of the leads. For actually putting Richard in a stressful situation where he was actually the one being dominated and just doing it because of his love for his son, and showing Jeremy's flaws in being gulliable enough to think things won't change at first. As well as being tricked by Allen's reverse psychology. And some of the jokes like Allen trying to explain how two dads have a baby (Code MENT did a funnier sort of variation of that joke though. Yeah that's right an abriged series can be funnier then an animation domination series... why is that not surpirsing whatsoever?) Carl Trent beating up random people for information, Allen not knowing if his mother even knew how to tip, Richard and the mother saying how they met the other, Allen wanting Jeremy to take Julie with him and Julie actually liking the mother, Allen's forced apology and this exchange at the end.

MOTHER: I just want you to know that you are all awful people. Except Julie she's actually nice.
JEREMY: Wait, what did I do?

Still the basic plot is a bit too cliched and the ending kind of shines a light on the problem with this series: it would be over if someone could actually handle these characters and change them, and that's ultimatley the person we're rooting for. It's not like the Simpsons when you're happier with them as jerks at the end (like the Mary Poppins parody) but with this yeah if only things could of changed. Oh well still had some laughs at least which makes it passable. Besides why beat up so much on a show that's on it's last legs anyway?

Great episode :anime:
My favorite part is the ending with Julie XD

This was probably the best episode so far. Carl Trent to me is easily the funniest character on that show. Love that zany son of a gun. When he went into that building and withing 5 seconds you could see a fire, I was dying. Loved how at the end he explained to AG that he obviously didn't get his mom's file since he was in there for like 30 seconds.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
