Nah, I'm actually in the Midwest. The paintjobs for my Doomsday 6-pack were also quite good, so hopefully the quality control is indeed improving and my sets weren't a fluke. Haven't opened up any of my packs yet though...so I can't vouch for how well their backsides are painted or if they stand. :)
Huh. Interesting you should say that. This week at Target, I picked up the last Huntress and Etrigan 3-pack but found no Shayera/Ray. Since they're normally packed 2 per case, I figured someone else just bought 2 of the Shayera packs along along with the others. I also noticed a few older...
Whoa, Captain Atom looks spot-on Dusty. You found (or mixed) the perfect paint for his suit. What paints did you use for that?
Nice update to Red Tornado too.
That's one fine-looking custom, Dusty  . I thought Mattel's Deadshot looked good, but yours blows it away. I think it's the gun barrels & straps...they look a tad too big on the Mattel version.
My place looked about the same when I moved, Casimir. I even have those exact same Mainstreet File boxes--great for storing older carded Star Wars figures & a decent size for moving JLU 3-packs!
I'm interested in seeing how they handle the Death of Superman DTV. Ending it simply with Superman's death seems a little odd for a stand-alone DVD in the market. But tacking on a fat "TO BE CONTNUED" note just wouldn't have the same dramatic weight. This is assuming that the sales of the DTV...
I really love that Batman Beyond cover. Not sure about the JLU cover...some of the poses look a bit awkward to me, all lumped together like that. It's good to see that JLU isn't being released under the "Kids" banner, since that probably means better features.
Seems like it'd make a little...
Thanks for the info Peter. Very cool JLU news. Although I'm pretty bummed out about Grundy, since this the first year in a while I can't make it out to WW Chicago.
Huh. Didn't notice that. I'm actually more annoyed that they altered the logo size on the spine of STAS v.3 so it doesn't match the previous releases. It still looks fine, but it's juuuust significant enough to bug me when I look at my DVD shelf.
What do the 2 cels that came with S:TAS & JL look like? I believe the cel that came with the Krypto dvd is the same one shown in the weekly ad. If they're not randomly packed, I'm thinking we can sort out which cels come with what sets and avoid getting doubles. Now we just gotta find someone on...
Anybody know if the Circuit City animation cels are packed inside the DVD boxes or are they given to you separately? I called a Circuit City to make sure they had the cels in stock but they were clueless.
When JL season 1 first aired, I remember thinking the shift from businessman to costume-wearing mad scientist was a result of Lex losing his mind a bit from his life spiraling downwards. But I also like the idea that it was actually Brainiac the whole time that was influencing Luthor on a...
I hate to say it, but I'm starting to wonder if the JLU lag is because Target's having second thoughts on whether they should carry the line. At my Targets, the JLU 3-packs and the new DC 6 inch line seem to be competing for the same shelf space. And now that the show's ending, I can see how the...
Most of the finds have been coming from Toys R Us. A few posters have mentioned finding the remnants of the wave at Target--which I'm guessing means the Martian Manhunter 3-pack. Sounds like Target is only getting spotty distribution of this wave for now.
Thanks for the info. Aside from the Puppet King bit, I wasn't aware of any of that stuff. I was always surprised that Cinderblock wasn't from the comics, since he appeared early on and was used by the creators quite often. Now it turns out, he kinda was taken from the comics.
Haven't heard of anyone finding the new 3-packs at Target yet either. I don't have a TRU near me, so hopefully my Target will still be getting a plentiful supply of the new waves.
Those cases do look pretty frickin' cool. Really captures the mood of the show well, which the official sets did not. I like how the guy subtly differentiates whether the episodes were part of BTAS, AB&R, or TNBA.
Overall, I still prefer what we got, since it uses new art and matches the...
Hmm, it doesn't sound like cels are included with this wave of sets. Not a big deal but still disappointing since they were a cool bonus.
I'm loving the slimmer packaging. Although I hope WB doesn't use this slimmer style for the last volume of STAS...the spine would clash with the previous...
Er, just to be clear, I'm not Jason "toyotter". Honestly, I picked out this username and didn't come across his Super Powers website until much later (which is a great site btw). I'm just your average toy geek surfing the web and I imagine Jason knows the industry better than I do.
Just...
Gotta agree with Peter here. Much as I'd love to see it happen, it's unlikely that Mattel has the rights to characters like Firestorm that never appeared on JL. When the designer mentioned they were trying to match Super Powers, I'm guessing someone might've been reading too much into his words...
That's gotta be it :)
The Huntress pic is my favorite. Strange. I really didn't like the new Jim Lee Huntress costume design at first. But now after seeing b.t.'s piece, along with her JLU appearances, I'm really loving the new look.
The Batgirl pic is probably my 2nd favorite. Has sorta a...
Awesome collections. Right now most of my collection is in boxes :( I'm a bit limited on space now. Also, the last time I displayed figures, they kept getting really dusty and it got tedious cleaning them off. How do you guys keep your collections from getting too dusty?

Don't remember exactly which JL episode it was in, but I always groan whenever I hear that one-liner. The line's just been used waaay too much over the years.
As someone who likes both Catman and Shatterfist, I thought that bit was hilarious. :D VERY pathetic, but funny nonetheless. Pretty clever that the creators were able to give both Catman & Hellhound a cameo by merging them together.
Yup, the Morrison/Porter run on JLA is a must. I always thought Porter's art was underrated. Maybe not as consistent as others, but his style is really original. Definitely interested in seeing what Meltzer does with the book.
For some reason, the stories in Superman/Batman never really...
I liked "Far from Home" quite a bit. My only gripe is that Supergirl & Brainiac seemed to fall in love awfully quick. From a writer's perspective, I can see that they needed a good reason for why Supergirl would choose to stay in the future. Not too familiar with the Legion universe but a lot of...
Awesome work, Dusty. Really impressed with how clean you paints lines & circles, especially on Deadshot. My vote for your next custom is either Kanjar Ro or Felix Faust. Mainly 'cause I'm just curious on what bases you'd use for those figures.
I'm serious. Does anybody else miss the commercial bumpers from Justice League season 1? I usually don't pay too much attention to bumpers, but for some reason I always really loved the ones that aired with season 1. While a lot of bumpers for shows are crass, it seems like the creators really...
Very true. But he has the option of ponytailing his mullet to throw people off. :D
I actually liked the sorta half-mullet that Scott McDaniel gave Nightiwng at the beginning of his ongoing series. Looked cool when he was bouncing around ceilings and what not. Unfortunately, not too many...
Yeah, I was wondering who that was as well. Initially, I was thinking it might be Calendar Girl from TNBA but it doesn't look like the girl in the pic has long hair.
And I'm enjoying this thread as well. Always wondering who some of the more obscure characters are. Neutron looks pretty cool...
Awesome news. All the George Newbern bashing is getting a bit old though. While it's good to hear that Tim Daly is doing the voice again for the DTV, Newbern has been doing a great job voicing Superman. In the first couple of JL episodes Newbern's Superman sounded off, but that's just because I...
I really enjoyed the last 3 episodes.
Flash and Substance-- This episode exceeded my expectations. Thought the writers did a great job giving Linda Park a distinct personality. In the comics, she's pretty much a Korean Lois Lane. Loved seeing all the Rogues at the bar. Wouldn't mind seeing a...
