Cartoon Network International News Thread 27.0

Then go clap Disney+ for treating animation better. HBO Max was never supposed to be mainly for animation. It was mostly for the content for adults and honestly it's not the first place where kids want to go.

Nope, it was at first for animation as much as the others. Also Asia and LA are on D+'s level. So Europe can too.

Yes, I know Cartoon Network Italy isn't, but no big deal, let's talk about Boing Italy, which is wildly more accessible than CN IT: it is not that much exciting either.

This month Adventure Time is back, yes, but at peak times it is more or less a "Cartoon Network"

(not that I care that much)
boing Italy it's just a mixed bag I appreciate them doing things like airing old show sometimes but at the same time they still do thing like spam Gumball at night

They are not.
I would honestly forgive them if they were investing and attracting older kids to their streaming services on certain sections, but they are not, except for the sporadical reboot of their IPs.

Cartoon Network is dying, let's be honest.
There are flaws, simply because there has been no migration from linear to streaming on many kids channels (not just CN), including Cartoon Network, and broadcasters are to be blamed for it.

Instead, often I've noticed another trend: older kids often jump straight to content intended to a slightly older audience, e.g. Netflix.

The decaying linear services, instead, often caters a younger audience than usual, as preschoolers watch more TV
its just very sad how CN is dying honestly a channel that was once had so many great cartoons and had so much variety and even had a bright future ahead in the early 2020s now has just been gutted, very much thanks to these dumb mergers

Again, below bare minimum.

I’m not going to clap like a seal for a company that has placed the bar in the underworld.
Maybe we are expecting too much from a private company though?

I would much more worried if public companies like BBC, France Télévision, ARD, RAI etc. were to stop caring for older children, but WBD? They are there to make money :)

I know many of you feel attached to the CN brand, but nothing is there to stay forever, and maybe we should just move on with things. Enjoy what you have, CN WE, CEE, Africa etc. are not even that bad

Some but I don't realistically expect more than 10 shows as they would have to pay more money to those who produced the shows. Anyways, I was moreso talking about HBO Max being for adults that don't watch cartoons. There's a very niche adult audience watching animation.

Indeed, some CN feeds aren't that bad and I enjoy CN a lot believe it or not.

CEE wasn't going to improve without the Regular Show and Adventure Time spin-offs.
I believe they would have. Adventure Time especially has been on CN CEE every year even after it ended. They also have Clarence.

Yes, this is the topic of the week. You are not my master or boss.

I don't see your logic, because only our continent is like this and only this platform. That's what you're saying. They shouldn't even try. Only on this continent. Why is that? Start by informing France to stop producing mature animated films, it's clearly not allowed on this continent. Apparently D+ and Netflix shouldn't release anything before 2010, ever, right, since you said so.

When did I say this "They shouldn't release anything before 2010, ever". Find the proof before you attack because having different opinions shouldn't piss you off. Touch the grass and keep talking about how much old shows are good, new shows are bad. I hate this mindset. Companies should always focus on new content because they thrive more. It is what it is. Calm down.

This doesn't mean they should ignore animations and not adding them. Like if they keep removing even SkyShowTime will have better category. Also I want to point that they could make Boomerang a channel for the old animations but they didn't want and turn it to pre-school channel which I don't like it because CN CEE and WE is targeting with this censorship the same audience like Cartoonito

honestly everyone's allowed to talk about what they want and nobody's breaking rules by doing this too

i mean Fair, i can live with feeds like CN Africa and it could be much worse but i wouldn't be lying if I said CN desperately needs a major overall

The WE censorhip is more relaxed than CEE so this does not concern me.

And about old animation. Channels simply can't survive if they decide to air classics. This was why Boomerang was shifting to new content in mid 10s.

KINDLY POINT ME TO WHEN EXACTLY HE SAID THAT.

You can't. Because that wasn't even a topic of discussion. Why are you taking the least charitable interpretations of what people are saying?

And I'm pissed off because we can't even express criticism of this billion-dollar company without people going "but it--it could always be worse guys!!!!1111 stop being so grouchy". The lesser of two evils is not a good thing.

Yes new shows aren't bad but they can't succeed if CN is removing them on the third month.

Listen, your caps lock text isn't changing anything. You just hate that I'm positive. I never once said you can't express your criticism but doing it again over and over again every single week is what's the problem and some things are pissing me off too. If you like to piss me off, then this is what happens.

@idk_1141 I think the shows don't get good enough ratings as people are more engaged to watch the same shows like Gumball and TTG.

International teams can't even raise the age bracket. That is all.

It's hypocritical of you to say that I said anything about the new shows (even if I don't like Goat Girl). It's even a criticism that CEE hardly wants to show the new shows and unlike WE, it removes them after 3 weeks, but you probably don't know that, right, you don't watch CEE.

But that's a better for your argument, right? Let's pretend that their sloth should be honored, it won't happen. Only they can be lazy, others try, even other CNs around the world (again, I'm talking about streaming, since for Asia it compensates for the gap). Only we should say "I adore, I love them for not wanting to try".

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.
