I noticed Apple TV+ didn't have its own news and discussion thread. I figured I would create one after it was announced today that the service will be implementing a price hike:

The service currently has 45 million subscribers and is losing $1 billion annually, which for Apple, they can take the hit since this isn't their main source of income. Just curious how long they'll continue with this. I've seen some comments that said that Apple TV+ is the easiest of the streaming services to cancel since while the service is known for their high quality originals(tv and movies), they don't have enough of a library outside of that to keep people enticed for the service.

I have a ton of purchased TV and movies through Apple TV (and its precursor iTunes), but I'm not subscribed to Apple TV+. Go figure.

Okay, it's no wonder I never subscribed to AppleTV Plus. Not really the place for cartoon fans to stream. Maybe even worse than HBO Max. At least they have Harley Quinn, My Adventures with Superman, and Creature Commandos. Probably the only thing remotely interesting to me on that streaming service is the live action show Monarch Legacy of Monsters, which would probably be a way bigger hit if it were on Netflix.

In news that rivals Warner Discovery reverting back to HBO Max, Apple TV+ will change its name to...Apple TV. LOL! It now matches the same name as their TV box. No word yet when the change will officially take place.

Beginning on October 20, Apple TV is partnering up with Peacock for a bundle deal (the bundle will cost $14.99 per month for the Apple TV and Peacock Premium tier, or $19.99 for the Apple TV and Peacock Premium Plus bundle). Also, each streaming platform will offer a curated selection of shows from the other’s service.

Formula 1 has decided to take the MLS deal of take the money and run to Apple TV and have misguided that their increasing popularity was brought on by people casually finding broadcasts on ESPN and ABC into thinking people will go to a streaming service that only has more users than Paramount Plus.
