I remember past articles where Myers states 4 would be more Dr. Evil-centric. I guess he was laying low since Kanye?
It kind of feels like the ship has finally sailed on Austin Powers. It just doesn't seem like the series is that big of a deal anymore. The first one is still funny, but the sequels just didn't cut it. I like Mike Myers, but it just seems like he's kind of lost his touch these days. The last really good thing he did, I thought, was So I Married An Axe Murderer.
Why? He wasn't at all to blame for that. Cat In The Hat and The Love Guru however...I remember past articles where Myers states 4 would be more Dr. Evil-centric. I guess he was laying low since Kanye?
Eh, I didn't really enjoy it. The first was fresh and funny and the sequel brought new concepts and ideas to the formula, but Goldmember didn't really do anything of note that felt fresh and the whole thing just felt tired to me.Jeez, am I the only one who found the third film to be the funniest of the three?

Myers would have to pull off a miracle to make his character feel welcome to a new generation, which would prove even more challenging since Goldmember was a letdown.

Only success? The Wayne's World films were pretty successful too. And while it wasn't "his" movie, he was in Inglorious Basterds, which did quite well.Well Mike Myers is pretty much without a career at this point, so why not return to his only live action success.
Deadline are saying that Myers was made an offer six months ago but has not formally replied in the meantime. This doesn’t render HitFix’s report a sham, but does raise some questions. Specifically – who was their source and what was their source’s motivation? Not Myers’ camp testing the water, was it? Or just hearsay amongst industry folk, someone getting something wrong? Or what?
