Honestly I feel like the writing is on the wall the way season 5 ended and how long it's been...but I have to respect there still seems to be people passionate about seeing the show continue.

Only a couple things I'd like to see them finally deal with and that's Ivy's father and introducing a few more characters like Red Hood. A season 6 seems like a simple premise, Ivy and Harley being moms.

Honestly after how they handled most of the Batfamily, I'm kind of glad they never really touched Jason.

I think I got enough out of them being terrible moms in that bad future episode .

Seasons 3, 4 and 5 were unnecessary in my honest opinion. I'd be glad for whatever DC animation that gets made, but I hope its something else and not another season of HQ

Another tiny update based on the MAWS season 3 press release from WB:

WBA’s current slate include Bat-Fam, Batman: Caped Crusader, Batwheels, Creature Commandos, DC Super Powers, Get Jiro!, Keeping Up with the Joneses, Krypto Saves the Day, Mister Miracle, My Adventures with Green Lantern, My Adventures with Superman, Starfire!, Teen Titans Go!.

This is our first announcement since the Aztec Batman press release. WB has now removed Jellystone!, Tiny Toons Looniversity and, of course... Harley Quinn. I'm sure many will still hold out hope, but I think HBO Max has made up its mind and I can't see the show going anywhere else.

Crazy to think that in terms of WB series and DTV's listed in the press release, only ONE is unrelated to DC.

Dean Lorey posted the cover page for a Bane spin-off pilot draft dated June 7, 2024. He co-wrote it with Chris Marrs and the studio loved it.

I had just started a rewatch of S5. And was realizing S6 is prob not happening. But, if a Bane show is done, I could be down for that.

I liked Kite Man, but it wasnt quite good enough for me to be sore it's not coming back.

Hope Kite Man's performance didn't affect the choice to shelve it but probably. A little to tight vs. its production and airing, but wonder if Lorey used any ideas from the pilot in season 5 or perhaps season 5 set the pipework i.e. Bane's family since we saw Bane take on Goldilocks as a daughter in Kite Man then she carried over into season 5. Marrs did write 2 episodes of Kite Man.

I get that the team obviously loves Bane and have put a lot of time on the character and at least try and do different things with him but like... Bane works best in this series as a SIDE character not as a star. Even in season 4 of HQ him getting his own episodes felt a bit much and yeah a lot of his focus in a fair amount of Kite Man didn't help either as it's clear "James Abdoniman great as that voice is still is only funny after awhile if you give him funny things to say which they didn't." Like he did work a bit better in season 5 but even that felt a bit much and even then was a supporting player, not a lead.

Then again I guess the main series has no chance of coming back sadly which yeah season 5 was the weakest and had some massive MASSIVE issues but I still could see a season 6 having worked but guess we won't ever see that come to pass.

Controversial opinion but I still think seasons 1-2 are the best story and narrative-wise.

I don't know if that's a controversial opinion at all since I feel every fan of the HQ series even the ones who want it to continue on do feel the same way. Like wouldn't a controversial opinion be something like "Season 5 is the best season of the series and easily eclipse what came before it" or something like that? Like there are some good moments and episodes easily in seasons 3-5 and stuff I am glad is part of the world but when it comes to overall narrative and arcs yeah season 1-2 had the tightest and worked the best even if it still had problems.

Really. I thought season 3 was the weakest. Took way too long to get into gear and by the time that happened it was the season finale. Season 5 was #3 for me. Season 2 being #1 for me, the best pacing and structure of the 5.

It feels like once they got Harley and Ivy together they had to find stuff for them to do outside being together and drag those plots on for as long as humanly possible.

That and basically downplaying the other cast from seasons 1-2 didn't help.
