Cartoon Network International News Thread 27.0

I gotta say I really don't like a lot about how CN UK has been handled -- continuity still being produced in SD, their rampant censorship, Gumball and TTG spam, refusal to acknowledge classic content when literally every other feed is doing so....
They dont even air bumpers or idents anymore

CEE is not alone in this anymore I guess...which is bad news

Especially now that HBO Max exists. Expect things to get even worse with less effort. You would have thought that they would put more effort since it took a very long time before HBO Max launched. It seems their strategy works though. They don't need to mention the timeslots when new episodes air every three to four hours.

It's funny that CN WE is the only one in Europe airing classics daily.

having hbo max is not an excuse not mention time slots because even italy and WE regions have HBO Max but they still mention time slots in the promos, seems like laziness to me

Yeah, a unified lineup just so the mid shows overnights can be removed. Mini variety with 4 shows. Much better situation. I feel sorry for those in Italy who watch CN during overnights. You deserve better.

AFAIK they do air Now bumpers, don't they?
And "idents" mainly during internal breaks?
Or has something changed?

As for classics, I know it gets ignored , but CN IT doesn't have them either, at least in Europe.

@Zzman on variety, CN IT is a little bit more varied though.

But you can watch their (CN and Boom) content On Demand there on Sky and NOW anyway

If I had looked one of the continuities or mainly watching the same continuity all days . It seems that they're only showing next ident . Now ident . Later ident. Well be right back ident as well . I dont see bumpers showen

But it's not in English, unlike K2.

Yeah, the idents seem rare.

I think it's only shown in one of these strange situations of a show put in a 1hr slot, at around :10, before going back to the show. (1st break, but not the 2nd break, where the Later bumper is shown instead)

They have been into Now bumpers instead of idents for a long time (around Check it 3.0), because many UK channels tend to prefer an announcement into the ident and the Cartoon Network idents do not work with an announcement on them.

But it makes watching the channels a bit boring...

On CN Italy overnight: currently as it is, no one sane would watch or even touch that schedule on CN, likely preferring Boing.

But even watching paint dry would be much better.

It has an english track . According to wikipedia
That's correct, maybe on Tivusat is different though.

EDIT: I mean it might have an English track on Tivusat, but not on DTT

CN UK still have the next bumpers and the other presentation features, bumpers are rarely aired, but you do see sponsorship ones. The only big difference in recent years is the missing time on the promos, that's because they have been premiering episodes early in the morning with multiple repeats throughout the day. Sky now does the ad sales for the channels, so their operation has been scaled back.

At first when CN rebranded to Check It 1.0 with the new logo, I thought it was a sensible idea to put the DOG/bug in the bottom right, the U.S. branding package was designed in a way so the banner appears from the DOG, which was probably why they went down this route, Disney and Nick were the same, which was the second reason. It was weird to see the DOG moved back up the top right corner as the logo is big and bulky but I got used to it. With the DOG change, they figured out a way for the banner to appear from nowhere.

Wikipedia is not always to be trusted

about CN UK they still do have air bumpers as seen here (at 11:56)

I think bumpers could be used as fallback. I'm probably wrong.

Europeans right now are experiencing the same Heatwave that africans face on a daily basis lol

honestly I like to think of this as some kind of "payback" too
But more exciting will be THIS! A new documentary about CN coming soon next year and looks like they even aknowledge Cramp Twins :ack:

Everyone applause these two characters, for soon getting their own spin-off full animated series!!! (who would have expected a series with PB and Marceline anyway? I know they have an upcoming comic book series which will go well with)

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.
