R.I.P. Bill Wise (1964-2026)

R.I.P. to anime voice actor Bill Wise, the English voice of Knuckles the Echidna in the Sonic the Hedgehog OVA (aka Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie). He also voiced Garudi in the Legend of Crystania franchise, Tomono in Rurouni Kenshin: The Motion Picture, Enishi Yukishiro in Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection, Bunta Fujiwara in the Initial D Legend trilogy, Richard Guyot in Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor, and Hayato Jin in Getter Robo: Armageddon.

Wise made appearances in the Richard Linklater films SubUrbia, Waking Life, Boyhood, and Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood. He was also in films by Andrew Bujalski and Trey Edward Shults.

I've only really heard him as Knuckles in the Sonic OVA, but he really made that portrayal of the character memorable.

RIP Bill Wise.
