International Disney Networks Thread Part 17

The site is not available anymore, it was closed down recently and replaced by some sort of real estate business one.

But back when it existed, it was able to offer schedules way up to November 2006.
I wondered why it didn't open so I thought it was my issue.

did dc france have a disney junior block, or did they air sofia the first with the normal shows? https://catalogue.ina.fr/docListe/T...adable_value%22%3A%22%22%7D%5D&reset_refine=2
and here is what those airings looked like. and yes, they aired on the disney junior channel earlier than these

As mentioned, Sofia was often placed outside the Disney Junior block in Europe (I guess because it's not a preschool show). For instance CEE in the smartphone app era and 4:3 glass era (and I guess a bit after) would air it just before the start of the DJ block and never IN it. I can't remember if DC France had a proper DJ block in the 2010s though, but other than the 2-part specials and pilot film, Spain, France, and CEE are the ones I know 100% did that.

Hm? It is a preschool show.
Elena of Avalor is not, and is targeted at an older demographic.

Fifteen years ago today, Disney Junior launched in Portugal with an all-day takeover of Disney Channel; from the next day it started its regular 9-12 block; which, like Playhouse Disney, aired earlier when the school holidays came.

Around 7pm, it aired the movie Cars.

I don't think it was always for older demo. The show was inconsistant. It didn't know if it wanted to be a preschool show or tween show. The Disney executives put the show on Disney Jr in the U.S. I definitely noticed some preschool elements during the show's run.

Sofia the First is an elementary school show made for an audience to grow up along with the show still watching - also the case for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The Playhouse Disney (btw there is a Russian Sofia DVD with that logo, though the show aired on Pervij Kanal at first and didn't come to Kanal Disney til later) to Disney Junior rename was the point it was broadened beyond preschool.

I didn't know two channels can air the same show on two different channels. It's not like Boomerang and Disney Jr were a part of the same company. Usually rights are given to just one channel.

I'm surprised Disney never bothered to bring their blocks to S4C (they did make Welsh books in the late 90s), TG4, TV3 Catalunya (there are Catalan dubbed Disney films as early as 1996 though), and ETB1
Did TG4 not air some Disney Channel show iirc. Could have been RTÉ2?

It does happen, although quite rarely.

Another examples here would be "Peppa Pig" that aired on both Nick Jr. and Minimax back in 2017 (if I don't say the wrong year)

Or "Huckleberry Hound" for a short window of about one week as well, on both Boomerang EMEA and DDTV (although DDTV aired much fewer episodes and it was subtitled).

These are examples from my country, Romania. Probably on your country it didn't happen, although, I doubt that.

Pay TV and local free TV have different contracts, so each case has to be analysed.

There can even be different contracts for purely pay TV channels, of course, or have different seasons split into different contracts

Free TV here has a show on two channels. That's the thing. Like I said, they have different seasons each.

Too many examples to list in my country, but The Simpsons had always aired on two different channels in the UK for years (free-to-air on BBC Two and later Channel 4 and E4, pay-TV on Sky One). And SpongeBob SquarePants had aired at some point on Nickelodeon (or Nicktoons) and CITV (also Viva, Channel 5, 5STAR and CBBC). Peppa Pig here is on Channel 5 and Nick Jr., every day ever since 2004.

What had Finnish audio on DC Scandinavia and sister channels in the 2000s/2010s?

Btw in that LazyTown example it was probably S2 airing on Disney Junior and S1 airing on Boomerang
