MeTV Toons - Network TALKBACK & Discussion Thread

There is no mention about Toei own 1994 version of Mega Man TV show.

After I dug deeper, Mandouga is correct about WildBrain and I didn't get about why someone mentioned Shochiku.
I'm pretty sure Capcom owns the 1994 Mega Man cartoon.

If you look at Discotek's Blu-Ray release of the show, the back cover features Capcom and Shochiku. WildBrain simply acted as a digital distributor (primarily on YouTube) during Fully Charged's promo cycle.

I think Capcom owns the '90s U.S. shows based on their games outright now. Street Fighter and Darkstalkers also only list Capcom in the copyright line.

Noticed during House of Hanna-Barbera this afternoon, MeTV Toons aired a Fox Promo for The 1% Club. This is the first time I've seen a Fox Promo on MeTV Toons.
First the WBD channels and now FOX. Looks like those networks are interested in seeing their external promos on there, and that those advertisers have potential.

This may be impossible, but I think MeTV Toons could potentially air The Looney Tunes Show in the future.

Down the line, I like to see how they can handle the HBO Max Looney Tunes Cartoons by including all 209 shorts. This also means shorts like Dynamite Dance on YouTube or shorts shelved from streaming like "Sick as a Hare" can be cleared for air. Definitely expensive but I think MeTV Toons is ready to grow even more years and years from now.

True, they can easily get the three dic sonic shows(aosth, satam, and underground) because wild brain owns syndication rights to those but if they want to get sonic x they would literally have to ask sega themselves considering they own tms(who animated sonic x). But yet again that short lived kidsclick block briefly acquired the syndication rights to sonic x right before they decided to kill that block and never got the chance to air it
While Wildbrain hold digital rights to AOSTH, linear rights are with 41 Entertainment (the successor to Bohbot). They still could get SATAM and Underground from Wildbrain though

added note about an unrelated comment: the 94 Mega Man cartoon is definitely NOT with Wildbrain. If you search around, you can find their catalog page listing every show they own and that is not in there

Don't forget that both AOSTH and Underground aired on BKN, but not SatAM for some reason. What do you think?

I probably see that Spectrum won't get MeTV Toons. At least for now.
I had Spectrum but couldn't afford it so I now have ME-TV toons channel and glad I'm able to watch it...love watching them and the shows they carry

"Weigel Broadcasting and Warner Bros. Discovery Partner for MeTV Toons"

"MeTV parent company Weigel Broadcasting is partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery to launch MeTV Toons. The new over the air channel, which is set to launch on June 25th, will be focused on classic animation from the theatrical era to old made for TV favorites.

Much of the programming on MeTV Toons is from the Warner Bros. Discovery library. The full lineup is not yet known, but shows and characters listed include Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Top Cat, Yogi Bear, and Johnny Quest. There will also be non-Warner Bros. Discovery properties on the network, such as Rocky and Bullwinkle, Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Betty Boop, and Speed Racer.

Weigel is touting MeTV Toons as “the only TV network devoted exclusively to classic animation”. Warner Bros. Discovery’s Boomerang used to serve this purpose, but it has aired newer shows in recent years. “We are honored to work with the amazing team at Warner Bros. Discovery and others on this network and bring together a truly incredible collection of the world’s best known and most loved classic cartoons, creating a new destination for everyone to discover or rediscover the sheer joy of watching cartoons on TV,” said Neal Sabin, vice chairman of Weigel Broadcasting. “MeTV Toons will be dedicated 24/7 to showcasing the biggest names and most beloved classic cartoons and animated characters. Everyone has a favorite cartoon; it is a universally loved art form. We are thrilled to bring those smiles and memories back to TV with MeTV Toons.”"

I know that I may be a little bit late on replying to this article but I have ME-TV toons channel and love watching it...I like their variety they offer...they don't repeat the cartoons...love the House of Hanna Barbera and Top Cat and the super hero cartoons as well as Popeye, Betty Boop, Woody Woodpecker and others they do...

I like the variety that ME-TV toons channel offers...they do House of Hanna Barbera and they also show Speed Buggy as well as Top Cat....Speed Racer, and Betty Boop and many others...I'm glad I can receive the channel so I can enjoy all these classic cartoons all over again...

Marine Boy should get a reboot if the reruns on MeTV Toons are popular enough.

I'm always saying Warner Bros. Animation should dig deep into their vaults for obscure properties they can reboot.
I don't mind Speed Racer but not about Marine Boy...I do agree with you...they should dig out other cartoons under Warner Brothers...they probably have more cartoons made under Hanna Barbera that ME-TV toons channel can show...I have the channel and love watching it now

I heard Pixie and Dixie might be possible too
they show Pixie and Dixie in their House of Hanna Barbera....love watching this channel...love seeing all of the Hanna Barbera cartoons they carry on ME-TV toons

There's going to be a mini Easter marathon on April 5th with 2 newly added Rankin-Bass specials in addition to The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible returning (probably a one-off). Source from TVInsider. View attachment 318094
I watched some of these on Easter....I haven't seen the Easter bunny is coming to town in years and it was such a treat to see this special cartoon as I watched it when I was a kid...so glad I get this channel now

Please use the edit button in the future.

I watched the Yogi one last year
I watched the Yogi Bear one as well as the Easter bunny is coming to town on ME-TV toons and it was great watching them after all these years

What if MeTV Toons airs the good old anime like Marine Boy, Battle of the Planets, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs et cetera?

I think Marine Boy is on MeTV Toons, but I would like to see Battle of the Planets. I’ve never heard of Saber Rider or Star Sheriffs before, but an old anime that I’d like to see on MeTV Toons is the 1979 Doraemon series

I just thought that some of you would like to know that beginning on May 12th, the 4:00PM (EDT) showing of TMNT (which started with the first episode when the show premiered back in...January or February?) will start showing the "red sky" episodes.

Anyone know when the new Saturday schedule starts?

11:30am Flintstones Spin-offs (starting with The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show)
12:00pm Top Cat
12:30pm Hong Kong Phooey
1:00pm Jonny Quest

Supposedly, June 20th. I couldn't find a source outside of the Reddit post. I'd take anything posted on the MeTV Toons subreddit with a grain of salt.

What if the MeTV Toons airs the Beetlejuice cartoon we all know and love?
I remember watching it a few times when I watched the channel, last it aired, it aired between the morning TMNT rotation and Underdog. For me it was a sit-through show because I started watching and liking TMNT right from the first show and I started watching Underdog not long after I got to watch a stream.

Chainsmoker Cat is one of the grossest anime I've ever seen, especially in the first episode.

Very happy that Mountain Dew Baja Blast is now available in Taco Bell UK, having been available since three days ago.
The only European country that still sells RHD Opel cars is Ireland.
