International Nickelodeon Thread Part 16

The Loud House will be airing on Nicktoons Africa in June following it's return to the rest of Africa on Nickelodeon I presume it will be the censored version.
The only thing censored about the show really is that some episodes are skipped. Other than that, the episodes themselves are pretty much intact to my knowledge. This isn't Cartoon Network, you know.

But yeah, I guess the 2017 Kenyan ban appears to have seemingly expired or something after nearly nine years.

As some of you might know already, Nickelodeon Asia aired the Noggin show A Walk in Your Shoes back in 2002/03 as I previously wrote last month on this thread. Well, it turns out that Nickelodeon Asia in 2002 wasn't the only channel in the Philippines that aired it. The now-defunct channel KidsCo aired it here too back in 2009:
KidsCo - Listings By Day

Super strange that it aired that late, lol.

They probably got it from Bullfrog Productions

From what I discovered from two years ago that TF1, has banned and censored several episodes of Bob L'eponge according to ina.fr. The only remaining evidence that I could find was from a French forum where TF1 censored the spikey cleets scene in "SpongeBob Meets the Strangler". Most of these episodes being censored remained lost media.

And as for the banned episodes:
"Ghost Host" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 01/26/2008).
"Rule of Dumb" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 01/27/2008).
"Spy Buddies" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 02/07/2009).
"Sing a Song of Patrick" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 02/08/2009).
"Mermaid Man vs. SpongeBob" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 01/05/2010).
"20,000 Patties Under the Sea" and "The Battle of Bikini Bottom" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 01/08/2010).
"Suction Cup Symphony" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 10/12/2010).
"The Splinter" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 10/13/2010).
"Grooming Gary" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 10/20/2010).
"Krusty Krushers" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 10/22/2010).
"Dear Vikings" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 10/25/2010).
"A Pal for Gary" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 01/11/2011).
"Big Sister Sam" (aired on Nickelodeon France on 02/13/2013).

Idk, but Nickelodeon France has held these episodes after Nickelodeon France launched in November of 2005. Almost all of the airdates for Seasons 1-8 from the French Wikipedia are 100% false as Seasons 1-3 were aired spiradically being part of a series of blocks "SpongeBob and Patrick presents the Best of Nickelodeon," "No Panic!," and "Nickelodeon Afternoons". Season 4 were aired split in half on the weekend of January 27-28, Season 5 was part of a daily marathon daily on February 2009, except for the last bunch and the first episodes of Season 6 in January 2010. Also Season 8 aired earlier on TF1 in January 2013, Nickelodeon France aired it in April, when they completed Season 7 in February.
thank you @E-Scope the only censorship here is the gas scene in just one bite. it was kept in anglophone canada (and some other countries), but not in quebec because it isnt dubbed into french and we always used the same prints as france but in ntsc

is it true that kazakh nick dubs are government funded, even though they suck?

The preparation began in 2020, and back then they still wanted to dub Disney into Kazakh.

They received a government grant for full dubs, no voiceovers.
Didn't stop some of the Kazakh dubs (mainly ones of live-action shows) from somehow becoming voice-overs anyway. Plus, the Mynyrgaq era of SpongeBob SquarePants is notoriously extremely janky overall (fortunately, the Cinema Tone Production–dubbed episodes aren't as janky).

i dont understand the history of nick turkey
1. closing in late 2011???? but the winx specials exist in turkish with a dub THAT IS COMPLETELY MADE BY NICK WITH NO RELATION TO OTHER TURKISH WINX DUBS and those specials only aired like twice on nick cee and their similar feeds
2. continuity videos of nick turkey from the 2010s are textless but they have the bug in the top right unlike cee
3. nick on cnbc-e is underdocumented
4. December 1997 seems incorrect

Due to a dispute between Turkey and Viacom after 2010, first the Nickelodeon and MTV Turkey websites were shut down, and then the channels completely closed on August 31, 2011. As far as I remember, and from a few news outlets, no new cartoon/live-action series were aired.

New programs/new releases in 2011 (as far as I remember):
- Blazing Teens, Patiteo Feo, Edgar & Ellen, The Troop, True Jackson VP, Supah Ninjas (I'm not sure about this one), and SpongeBob (season 7 was fully aired)

I remember that in the last days before it closed, they aired SpongeBob, Cat Dog, and Rugrats all day long, and a few times As Told by Ginger was available.

Doug: Nickelodeon (Latin America/Brazil)
Hey Arnold!: Nickelodeon (Middle East), Nickelodeon (Australia), Nickelodeon (CEE), etc.
Rugrats: Nickelodeon (Latin America/Brazil), Nicktoonsters (UK/Ireland), Nickelodeon (Australia), Nicktoons Network (USA, not every episode though), etc. (plus all 3 theatrical movies aired on Nicktoons in the UK/Ireland a few times)

CatDog: Nicktoonsters (UK/Ireland), Nick Premium (Germany), Nickelodeon (Middle East), Nickelodeon (Poland), etc.
Rocko's Modern Life: Nick Premium (Germany), Nickelodeon (Israel), Nickelodeon (Latin America/Brazil), Nickelodeon (Southeast Asia), etc.

The Angry Beavers: Nicktoons (Netherlands/Flanders), Nickelodeon (Israel), Nick Premium (Germany), Nickelodeon (Italy), etc.
As Told By Ginger: Nickelodeon (Middle East), Nicktoonsters (UK/Ireland), Nickelodeon (Australia), etc.
The Wild Thornberrys: Nicktoonsters (UK/Ireland), Nickelodeon (CEE), Nickelodeon (Italy), etc. (the 2002 movie aired at least once on Nicktoons in the UK during this time as well)

Invader Zim: Nickelodeon (Israel), Nickelodeon (Southeast Asia), Nickelodeon (Australia), Nicktoons (Netherlands/Flanders), Nickelodeon (Latin America/Brazil)
Daria: Nickelodeon (Israel), 2x2 (Russia), MTV (Latin America) (?) (Is It Fall Yet? aired on Nickelodeon in Israel at least twice during this time, and i'm sure both Is It Fall Yet? and Is It College Yet? aired on the latter 2 during this time)
KaBlam!: Nickelodeon (Israel), Nicktoons (Netherlands/Flanders), 2x2 (Russia)
Kappa Mikey: Nicktoons Network (USA), Nickelodeon (Australia), Alfa TV (Greece), etc.

SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, Fairly OddParents, El Tigre, Tak and the Power of Juju, Back at the Barnyard, and The Mighty B! were still airing in alot of countries already (for the last 3 they were just getting started)

I counted Daria and O'Grady as Nicktoons because they're owned by Paramount Global and aired on Nickelodeon in Israel as well as The N in the United States

Seems like Turkey was quite behind on getting those shows for a feed launched in 1997…Also, their graphics at this time felt so janky like…girl (maybe it's just for their online videos)?

As amateur as CN Turkey from one point. It's as if CN TR was its own world.

Actually both Hey Arnold! and Invader Zim were also airing in Italy during that period. albeit very late at night: Nickelodeon

Of the two you mentioned, the only cartoon that never made it here on any channel in the Philippines was O'Grady.

Meanwhile, another cartoon that aired on The N in the US (albeit for a short time) that never aired here on any channel in the Philippines was Girlstuff/Boystuff (which however in Germany, was on Disney Channel as well as Super RTL).

Glad I got you to watch Stranger Things.

If I may recommend more media for you to check out, here's a starter:

You've mentioned that haven't read the original TMNT comics from Mirage Studios. Well, this video by YouTuber "Soundout12" gives a decent roadmap for where to start:

dmxx116 really likes to wish for people not to return back to so and so because their films didn't do so well. I don't agree with everything he says, though I agree on that Jared Leto shouldn't play Skeletor.
I'm sorry but I disagree with what GRPHX said about the past five films with Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as the choice of Denis Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer in the next film because I really doubt Villeneuve's take will be like the Craig films at all and besides, all of the stuff he mentioned happened before the Craig films such as Licence to Kill.
