Ronin Warriors is getting a Sequel Series

I can't tell you how much this hits me in the nostalgia feels :D!

That would be pretty awesome if they could get the Vancouver actors back for this. Sadly they rarely appear in anime anymore though. Still. Looking forward to a revival of this classic.

The dub of the OG was a standard of both Sci-Fi Animation Station and later Toonami so this is good to see.

They might when you consider the characters from the original series will likely largely be cameos.

"“Ronin Warriors” Getting a Sequel in January 2026"

"It’s been a long time, even longer in Japan, for there to be a new entry in the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers franchise (known under the Ronin Warriors name to US audiences). The original anime aired in Japan all the way back in 1988-1989. It aired in US syndication in 1995 and probably got its biggest exposure airing alongside Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon on Cartoon Nework’s Toonami block from 1999-2000. The series will finally get a new entry in January 2026, entitled Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers. Studio Sunrise will helm this series as they did the original.

This sequel series will be about a new team of five samurai wearing their magical army to fight bad guys. It is to be set in modern day Shinjuku. All we know about this new team is that the main guy is named Gai. No clues as to if this new team will ever meet the old team or has any relationship with the old team. Virtually nothing has really been revealed about the plot. From what we can see in the trailer, the art feels very different from the 1980s animation of the original."

It blends classic ’80s/’90s anime charm with epic armored battles. Each of the Ronin has their own personality, armor, and elemental power, and seeing them come together as a team is incredibly fun. The show has that nostalgic heroic vibe, great transformation sequences, and a surprisingly emotional story beneath all the action. It’s just pure, stylish, old-school anime goodness

I'm not a dub watcher anymore. But this was one of the earlier anime series I saw when I was a kid.

Are the chances for this new Ronin Warriors anime to get the Ocean Group dub high or low? And why?

If it were to get a dub, it'd be by Crunchyroll who licensed it and uses their cheaper Texas cast. It didn't get a simuldub, so it may get a dub years down the road or never. It seemed to bomb hard on Crunchyroll.
