Just found out about the news today-very upsetting. For as great as Plucky Duck was, I don't think the character would have worked nearly as well without Joe Alaskey's performance.
Thanks for all the years of laughter and fun Mr. Alaskey. R.I.P.
Maybe I'm a little biased ( grew up in the 90's) but for me the 90's have the edge over 10's. A lot of 90's shows had the perfect blend of comedy/drama while not being too melodramatic/too topical. A lot of the 10's cartoons seem like carbon copies of each other.
Is anyone else watching? It's very rare nowadays that we get a non-holiday animated special in primetime. I missed most of the picks, but of course they had some big stars like Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Homer Simpson and Yogi Bear listed.
Wow I had no idea Fil-Cartoons was created by Hanna-Barbera. I remember seeing them in the end credits of a few H-B cartoons as well as some Tiny Toon Adventures episodes.
For that matter, I didn't know H-B helped produce the 80's Teen Wolf cartoon.
Well never say never in this crazy business.
If the Ducktales reboot proves to be a success for Disney, I wouldn't be surprised to see Warner Bros. and other studios look to revive some of their old shows.
As usual I'm late to the party; but this is exciting news!
Hopefully Disney is able to capture the spirit of the original series without trying to modernize it too much ( sure they can add cell phones/lap tops; but keep it ambiguous). Some of the voice actors are advanced in age (Alan Young...
I was just thinking a couple of days ago; one of the unique things about Hanna-Barbera is the amount of outside properties that they produced shows for. Obviously they had they're own stars like Yogi Bear, The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo but they also did shows for The Smurfs, Popeye, The Pink...
Pretty 'Meh' episode for me; though it was cool to finally see Rigel VII. I do have a little nitpick though: If Kodos is female, shouldn't she have hair like the other female Rigellian's? Unless they where wigs up there. Again small nitpick.
BTW, I did like the ending credits music...but...
Well WWE or not, I'm just glad WB is finally utilizing the rest of the Hanna-Barbera crew. Besides Scooby, the rest have been collecting dust for years; although Yogi Bear did get his own live -action movie awhile back. Who knows if this WWE/Flintstones crossover does good numbers we might see...
Just picked up my copy yesterday, but I'm going back and forth as to whether I should get an Amibo figure. For anyone who has one, does it live up to the hype? Should I purchase one?
I was debating whether or not to chime in, but I keep it short. I'm very deflated by the election results; and if the GOP continue the shenanigans of the past six years then it's gonna be a long two years. *Sigh* ...Sometimes I wonder if it would be just easy for the country to just split up...
