Wow.
As someone who grew up with the Powerpuff Girls, I gotta say that if this was the last thing we ever got from it--- I'd be happy. It gave us every possible character cameo, hearkened back to old jokes and episodes, tied up some loose ends (like seeing part of Ms. Bellum's face), and...
Loved it. Really glad this show got its own series despite not winning the pilot contest thing.
Oddly enough I don't like it for the violence, but for the fast paced animation and the characters (the Warden, Jared, and Alice). I hope this starts a trend in AS shows getting better animation.
Ep.6:
It's funny how we're arguing about the official English character names and then something like this pops up. Usually words in the Slayers are gibberish or runes, but this time it actually seems to be English.
So his name is "File, S." and he won "falve victry"s.
Sure, it'd be nice to...
Are you referring to the Seyruun/Saillune thing? In CPM's defense, it really does sound like they're saying Seyruun. And it's not like the Japanese consistently tend to stick to an official English spelling either (see below).
That might be. But I've also read a fan theory about Ozel that seems so plausible that I'm going to put it behind spoiler tags (seriously, potential endgame spoilers):
Ep.5:
I dunno, I think the manga version of this episode seriously spoiled me because I kept expecting a certain epic showdown and it never came! Boo. I admit I'm not enthused about them hinting about bringing back Rezo for a 3rd time; I thought 2 times was more than enough. And they also...
Huh. You're right, the portal did break and the rest of him started to pour out. How much passed through is a bit unclear. But I'm stumped.
Okay, crackpot theory time. Since Dark Star and Vorfeed merged with Valgaav and Valgaav was reborn, maybe Lina's drawing power from him?...
Pretty sure they're not ignoring TRY. That was just our crazy pre-show rambling speculations.
And about Dark Star: it's confusing, but I did rewatch Try a few weeks ago and I remember them saying they only "cut him in half." If you watch, you'll see the rest of his body was still in the tube...
I loved the Iroh/Zuko moment, the crazy pants Azula/Zuko fight (Grey DeLisle really outdid herself there), and when Sokka broke his leg and he was telling Toph "looks like boomerang isn't coming back."
But..... what happened to Zuko's mom? Seems kinda weird to end it like that.
A pretty good episode. There was a lot more misses than hits when it came to the play, but when it did hit it was gold. The lines about the ambiguous deaths of Jet and Combustion man, Zuko's hair, and Zuko choosing Azula were priceless. Toph being overjoyed with her portrayal was adorable.
I was very impressed by this episode, especially since it seemed to stretch Nick's standards. I mean, the whole plot was about Katara going off to kill her mother's killer. Even the Sokka/Suki scene moment made me wonder "This is a kid's show!?"
Favorite scene, hands down, was Katara...
I agree, definite filler episode. The weakest of the three so far, but I still enjoyed watching Lina beat the crap out of Wiser and the twist at the end with the jellyfish. I should have seen that coming. The next episode also looks a bit filler-ish, or at least more on the comedy side. I...
