I was watching the Complete Deluxe Edition of the Dark Knight Returns, and I couldn't help but imagine how the movie would be edited if it were ever tried to be shown on Cartoon Network's Toonami or something. I started imagining every painstaking snippet taken to cut out the harsher elements of...
I really dug it, more for what it represents than the merits of the short itself. It evokes the Golden Age Batman to a "T" and it's really cool to see BT's pure, unadulterated preference for the character. I really liked this a lot, but I get why others may not.
Oh no, there's definitely a difference I feel in focus and tone. Sometimes the overarching narrative of the reviews appear to be about the director, or actor entirely. The Pearl Harbor review spent half of its length taking pointed, mean spirited shots at Michael Bay. I've no love for Bay, but...
This is why I've stopped watching the new NCs. Everytime I tune in he dedicates 10 minutes at a time to slagging off some celebrity. That's not funny nor clever, it's just mean spirited. I tuned in randomly once for the Sharknado review with the Snob and was really taken aback by the needless...
One thing I'm really not liking with these second wave of NC reviews is that the underlying theme always seems to be making fun of celebrities. S'not really what the show was about, and if that's the only way he can include his friends in the reviews then that's too bad.
Anybody know what exactly's been up with Marzgurl? Never knew she was hospitalized...

I have to agree, this felt very uninspired in terms of bringing the comic to life, which ideally is what an adaptation should do. It's one thing to translate the story, dialogue and characters, but none of the visceral atmosphere, tension and grit of the book were anywhere near this movie. I...
Here's a question: whatever happened to Barghav? I saw on Wikipedia that he had left TGWTG a while back, which explains why one of the Walker's voiced him in TBF.
Wow, that was really really cool.
I was more sucked into to the story than in it for the jokes, because by this point Doug Walker has really stepped up as a director. I love how everything is slowly forming together, especially with the characters. The fact that Linkara, and the Science Guys...
Find this to be a lot more intriguing from the teaser than Suburban Knights last year. I remember first seeing that trailer and thinking "These guys are making complete fools of themselves." This looks to be much more interesting just based on the sci-fi nature of the clips.
Holy hell, I just now caught up with all of this. This is...I don't even know what. It's insane. ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
Also, I knew about Linkara and his GF, but I didn't know Brad and his wife broke up. Anyone know why, or is that too much to ask? (for serious)
I've not read "What's so funny about Truth, Justice and the American Way", but the movie itself was very good. It took me a while to get used to the designs, but as someone said above, the animation at the end made up for it. This is probably the best Superman story to tell these days, and...
I really, really enjoyed it. I liked Kickassia a lot, but I do clearly remember that starting slow for me at the beginning. It didn't ramp up until part three IMO. This time around, I liked the seriousness of the opening sequence, and I like the oblique continuity. No one mentions the events of...
I love this episode as well, and just happened to re-watch it the other day. This version of Metallo makes him possibly my favorite Superman villain, and it's a damn tour de force for Luthor as well. Terrific episode all around.
