You're right on a lot of points. Some of the references were slang but a lot of things in Looney Tunes are allusions to popular songs, pop culture or radio shows of the time. For instance Open The Door, Richard was a popular song. "Cut a rug" means you dance really well. I catch the song...

There is at least one pretty decent Public Domain dvd release put out by Anchor Bay I think. Olive Films who licensed distribution rights to a bunch of Paramount/Republic Pictures film properties announced they were putting together a dvd of only the non-PD Betty Boops shorts(66 cartoons), but...

It was never listed on Target's website other in than in last week's Weekly Ad. It's not a product you can search for / buy online from them. It definitely came out last week though, because I had it for over a week now and watched all of the episodes on it.

I am ecstatic for to get more both of these shows on dvd, and so soon too. But man those subtitles are getting worse all the time. Especially for poor Taz.....

Grabbed a copy today. It had a sticker on the front that says, "Target Exclusive" and under that "For a Limited Time". It'll probably hit other major retailers in a few months.

is apparently releasing tomorrow in Target stores. Pretty under the radar, but I'm excited since all that's left after this is the rest of the short cartoons. I'm guessing it'll be a timed exclusive similar to the way one of the Scooby's Laff-a-Lympics dvd's was a timed exclusive for Target.

Got Duck Dodgers Season 1 from Amazon today. Man, I missed this show!

It's kinda weird on amazon. I don't know what happened there. I pre-ordered it when it first became available. At one point I was told it was canceled, but it shipped yesterday and I got it today.
