Does anyone else get annoyed by the "No guys, this cartoon made for literal toddlers is actually SUPER deep!" crowd? Mostly, I see this with Bluey. It's just a wholesome preschool cartoon that parents can watch without wanting to pull their hair out. Stop acting like it's The Sopranos.
When I was a kid, I watched old Scooby-Doo shows on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. I remember being on the internet and being deeply confused by the hate for Scrappy-Doo. I didn't find Scrappy annoying at all when I watched the old shows. Is it just a "you had to be there" kind of thing?
I've been watching a bunch of YouTube videos criticizing Helluva Boss, which made me think of Glitch Productions, which made me wonder: With the success of Glitch Productions, why don't the major animation studios like Disney or Warner Bros. make original shows for YouTube? YouTube has more...
I just found out that the Checkered Past block on Adult Swim ended back in June. It only lasted a year and a half.
Why did the block fail? Was it because of a lack of variety in the programming, or did the novelty of watching old Cartoon Network shows wear off?
Let me ask you something: Do we really NEED a new Disney/Pixar movie every year? Why not take a year off to let the movies they're already working on get fully developed?
Disney's not going to go out of business from going one year without releasing any movies.
You remember Friday Night Nicktoons, right? It was the Nickelodeon version of Cartoon Cartoon Fridays.
Well, recently, I was surprised to learn that Friday Night Nicktoons only lasted from 2002 to 2004. Why wasn't it as successful as Cartoon Cartoon Fridays? It's not like Nickelodeon's lineup...
Now that Season 1 is over (Well, technically, not all the episodes have aired on TV yet, but all the episodes are available on YouTubeTV and Disney+) and the show is almost definitely not getting renewed, what do you think of Primos? Did it deserve the hate?
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've been pleasantly surprised by StuGo. It's actually genuinely funny at times. It and Kiff are the highlight of my Saturday.
This thread was inspired by Sonic Underground. The theme song had no right to be as good as it was. Frankly, it's wasted on a show like Sonic Underground.
The Cartoon Cartoon pilots are from the Big Pick Weekend from 2000 that Grim and Evil won, right?
Edit: Looked it up, and there were TWO Big Pick Weekends, and Codename: Kids Next Door won the 2nd one.
I'm just saying that The Simpsons has been running for 35 years at this point. To put this in perspective, the year The Simpsons premiered:
The Twin Towers still stood
The Soviet Union still existed
George H.W. Bush was the President of the United States
Tim Burton's Batman was the #1 movie
I'm going to be honest, I'm not really into the "LOL SO RANDOM" kind of humor Cartoon Planet uses.
I will say that George, Clay and Andy have excellent chemistry.
