"Creature Commandos" Animated Series News & Discussion (Spoilers)

At the very least, Captain Atom being allegedly a recurring character means they won't do a cheap gag where he just explodes easily. :p
I immediately thought he better not blow up in episode 1, lol. I hope it's not going to be a spin on the vision in season 1, except with Captain Atom getting shot across the timeline every time he gets blown up and sees a glimpse more of some dark future that unfolds. I was thinking what if he's the Creature Commandos' new handler, replacing Flag, but then Bride was made the leader and with Flag in charge of ARGUS now, would he really put a meta in charge of them even though Captain could be depicted as a government stooge blindly following orders for the sake of the USA. Or would Flag even keep the team going under his tenure for that matter or would he entertain the notion of metas hunting metas. I suppose Captain could be working for some other branch/agency (i.e. USAF, Department of Metahuman Affairs, Central Bureau of Intelligence) on some case involving a meta and crosses paths with the Commandos who are sent after the same meta and it becomes a rivalry of who will reach the target first.

I would hope Nate's role is more substantial than that. I remember James Gunn mentioned on Threads that he was a fan of the character and used covers to some of his better comics (the 1987 run and Fall and Rise of Captain Atom), so we'll see.

I can believe Gunn hasn't read a lot of comics with Circe or Frankenstein in them but I can also believe he read 80's Captain Atom along with JLI.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
