WBD Acquisition Thread

Ketchup Entertainment bought Coyote vs. Acme out and it will be unaffected by Paramount-WBD merger.
Well, good! Because I am actually considering this film, and I'm also looking forward to see Sonic 4.

Man, this funeral for WBD is going to come closer and closer. PSKY is going to win and nothing can’t block them.

More cancellations, more tax write offs, endless Rush Hour sequels because Ellisons are kings.

Say goodbye to your dream for ever wanting to work for WB. You’ll be working for Ellison only.

You've posted some variation of this exact post almost non-stop for weeks on end. I understand the concern, we all do, but can we please cool it down a bit? It's not done until it's done and there's various factors that could cause significant setbacks.

I’m just worried they will cancel the Looney Tunes forever and Ellison will be nothing but pro SpongeBob and pro Paw Patrol. All of WB’s animated branding will absorb into Nickelodeon or Paramount only.

They want endless Rush Hour movies in order to pander to someone.

They really want the deal to get officially approved in the states and in Europe quickly.

I don't have a problem seeing others posting their opinions regarding the acquisition, but no matter how much we laugh or cry, the final decision is not in our hands.

This pending acquisition has too many red flags especially until 2029.

What exactly is before 2029?
It’s related to how the Paramount Skydance merger got approved. It’s how Stephen Colbert got cancelled. It’s how another Rush Hour movie got made. Too much external influence from the top.

There’s going to be a lot of synergies. They need to hurry before the deal gets finalized. I don’t want my Looney Tunes fantasies to die.

"Paramount CEO David Ellison has continually promised 30 films a year and that he’ll keep Warner Bros and Paramount separate"

Made sense not to absorb WB into Paramount. So basically WBD will be a division of PSKY, my guess.

They should just rename the company simply Skydance Corp. and keep Paramount and WB separately like how TimeWarner kept New Line and WB independent for years.

Amazon kept MGM+ (Epix) while they have Prime Video as their flagship service. HBO Max has the better UI and functionality compared to Paramount+.

It would be impossible to keep 30 films per year in theaters while dealing with a mountain of debt.

Yet again, I really can’t count on Ellison considering the favors and loopholes he went through to buy Paramount.

It’s still impossible for 30 films a year from one corporation. Also, I feel that David Ellison will lie and combine both Paramount and WB (including closing/selling one of the film lots) just to save money like a greedy man.

I do feel that half of films would be released directly on HBO Max-Paramount+ combo.

Yeah, it is very impossible or debt would get out of hand.

Can’t wait until the company becomes official later this year and they cancel Looney Tunes for tax write offs.
I'm not going to speculate about what happens with after M&A.

Merger and acquisition is unpredictable and there is no way to know about M&A would be approved, also there is court battle in the circle. You could end up overblown instead. The prediction on post-M&A is more of impossible because we didn't know about Zaslav's tax write off after merger closed.

I'm going to do is wait and see. You would be embarrassed if your projection gets wrong.

don't bring out the blue sky studios example or turn all these comments into a song similar to those by disturbed, bon Jovi or avenged sevenford

What Blue Sky Studios have with Paramount-WBD merger?

Let move on with Blue Sky Studios.

I sure hope nothing awful will happen to Sonic the Hedgehog 4, even if the merger gets approved. So will Coyote vs. Acme, Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender, The Cat in the Hat (2026), and The Angry Birds Movie 3.
Even Sonic 4 will be a priority, I guess

on the case of animation studios foldings
Ellison is much, much, much more far than Disney did to 20th Century.

Closure of Blue Sky Studios wasn't surprise and it is part of consequence from acquisition, so how many times I told you.

Disney-20th Century have much less overlaps, so Paramount-WBD would have much more overlaps that is enough to shake the whole studio that didn't happen very much with 20th Century, apart from covid misfortunate.

Personality between Ellison and Bob Iger are no match, so it is like extremist vs. mainstream.

There is political involvement in Paramount-WBD but it is minimal to absent in Disney-20th Century.

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.

This heat is unbearable.
Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
