"Tiny Toons Looniversity" News & Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I am sure this show is performing well, just like the original.
there are still unaired episodes and Cartoon Network isn’t even airing the “winter blunderland” special and is instead only streaming it on Max, the streamer that actively wants to get rid of kids content

Eric Bauza confirmed that he became the voice of Buster Bunny late into production. It was rumored that Keith Ferguson initially voiced him when production started. I think it might have been Zeno Robinson or another African American actor that WB or Amblin wanted as the voice for Buster. They settled on Bauza and the dialogue was ADR'd back in 2022.

In the test animation (which had reused backgrounds from the Animaniacs reboot) Ben Giroux voiced Buster. In the footage from episode 1 that was leaked, it was Keith Ferguson.

I can only imagine that Keith Ferguson either was casted when production started or he was asked to record scratch dialogue due to WB/Amblin not yet finding out what Buster should sound like.

In the end, they probably chose Eric Bauza to voice Buster because what Ferguson provided did not work out for the showrunner and producers.

It's unfortunate that it only got a straight-to-series two season order. It makes me think why did WB hire out of all the qualified and passionate people to showrun the show, that would be Erin Gibson.

Was this the result of AT&T/WarnerMedia and their standards or was it Audrey Diehl, WB Animation's development executive who spearheaded the push to develop shows like this at the company. It can only take just one executive to basically sink any good concept in favor of what gets made by committee.

If the people running WB's parent companies over the last several years had any sense, they would have allowed the series to run over 4 seasons, one for each school year, 26 episodes per season with the show ending with the main characters graduating. TV shows that end with the main plotline wrapped up neatly are the ones most worthy of binging. Why do you think shows like Breaking Bad and The Big Bang Theory get such great streaming numbers years after they ended? Answer: their main storylines were allowed to wrap up neatly in the final episode.

I honestly think WB should let the series build and evolve from there instead of fast-tracking it through the pipeline. A first season of 20 episodes set at Freshman year will allow proper establishment of the characters including the popular Tunes. Later seasons will go deeper and more creative. I also think the show would benefit from an 11-minute or 7-minute format because Tiny Toons is built for a fast-paced environment where writers and board artists can think of gags of all sizes. I just feel like the sitcom format led them at a disadvantage. It looked better than Animaniacs (2020) but nowhere near close to The Looney Tunes Show and how they approached the format.

This German TV guide confirmed the last episodes of Season 2.

Season 2, Episode 6 - Things That Go Tweet In The Woods

During a camping trip the toons conquer their fears by telling scary stories around a campfire, but their fears soon becomes reality.

Season 2, Episode 7 - Nightmare on Toon Street (Part 1 and 2)

Sweetie wins a night with her friends at an autumn farm. But they aren't the only guests there.

Season 2, Episode 8 - Ask Not What Bunnies Can Do

For You Babs is running for the presidency of the student council, but she faces unexpected competition from her own brother.

Season 2, Episode 9 - Let Them Eat Quack

Plucky is frustrated because his friends never listen to his suggestions. This situation changes when he is crowned king. Now he has the power to make decisions and determine what is done.

Season 2, Episode 10 - Squash Me If You Can

Sweetie participates in the annual Whiskers and Beaks Games, where she competes against various toon cats.

Season 2, Episode 11 - I Got A New Appitude

When the Toons receive the results of their "Toonness Test" from Daffy, confusion ensues.

Interestingly, Super RTL/Toggo airs episodes of this show way ahead of Cartoon Network in EMEA.

Let's hope the Toonness Test provides a fitting conclusion Edit: (well nope not a finality feeling, looks like Blunderland was supposed to be the last thing in production order)

Would've loved to try one of Buster's patented unique works of art S'Mores

Thoughtful of Babs to look out for the giraffe students at Looniversity

Relieved the moral for Plucky's episode was that his suggestions mattered and not just that he sucks like other shows would just leave the lesson at

Glad Sweetie denied the expectations to become like Tweety, that bird is rotten to the core

Not sure how Hamton bought into Yosemite's logic there, but we're one step closer to Loonatics evil Porky Pig

One last thing I'll note is I don't understand why Dizzy's role in the series became so reduced, maybe I over-remembered him, either way I liked this more than 2024's batch, sorry Looniversity, if Zaslav didn't hate Looney Tunes you might've gotten that second order of 26

Hopefully now they' ll leave Animaniacs and Tiny Toons finally to rest so that only the 90s memories remain.

Meanwhile, season 2 has yet to be released on Cartoon Network and Max in Europe. We're still only at season 1 (plus the Spring Break special, which is its own title on Max).

Did you hate the reboots or something? What was wrong with them?

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
