WB has commissioned a Green Lantern inspired spinoff to My Adventures with Superman starring Jessica Cruz.

“My Adventures with Green Lantern,” will follow high school student Jessica Cruz who has her life upended when, according to an official logline, “a Green Lantern Power Ring falls from the sky” and chooses Cruz “to be its champion.” Things get even worse “when more debris from the Lanterns’ ancient space war arrives – along with their alien foes.” Jake Wyatt is executive producing, and Stephanie Gonzaga is a co-executive producer.

Cool, a spin-off from a Superman cartoon. Reminiscent of the DCAU, more or less.

Interesting to have Jessica as the star. Wouldn't be my first choice but whatever. I'm guessing this won't be connected to the live-action series focusing on the other Lanterns, anyway.

You know this does indicate that My Adventures With Superman must actually be doing really well for the DC brand even more then we thought it did if it's getting a specific spin off seemingly in that same style, thus the whole naming convention. I mean why else call this "My Adventures with Green Lantern" if it's not associated with MAwS at all? Like it is clear with these announcements, DC Studios is trying to appease more general kids into the brand with you know shows that likely have a degree of more serious/maturity to them then Teen Titans Go! or Batwheels but though we don't know if any of these three announced shows will feed into one another, this one at least is feeding into something currently going on.

And you know I'm for that not only as a fan of MAwS and being fine expanding that world but having a Jessica Cruz cartoon. Like it's clear that Lanterns is meant to be the more serious and more directly connected to the Gunn DCU Green Lantern mythos but there is plenty else to do with GL and yeah Jessica Cruz is a character that they have been pushing pretty hard recently. And though she was sort of the star of the Fatal Five DTV this would be her first specific leading franchise and there is plenty to do with this kind of Green Lantern I'd be fine with them exploring. Will this be something MAwS sets up in it's third season to pay off later? Would hope so but probably the show announced today I'm most looking forward to.

Kyle Rayner still denied his GL show :p.

I like Jessica so I'm down for a show with her, though it would be nice if they featured her GL partner Simon Baz as well :).

Though I have to be honest I feel like they could've done a great romcom style Superhero cartoon like MAWS with Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris...

It seems like the Kryptonian Empire was at war with the GLC in the context of this setting, judging by MAWS, so we'll see how that factors into the plot. Could Superman or Supergirl guest star in an episode :anime:?

I've very happy we're getting both a MAWS spin-off and a new GL series out of this!!! The GL Superman fought wasn't just a one-off! Yeah, wonder this is related to the encounter with Brainiac and Supergirl, or with the Kryptonians further back, or a totally different conflict i.e. Apokolips or Thanagar since a Parademon and Thanagarian were also used by Brainiac.

More alien ships and villains. Checkmate ain't gonna be too stoked, lol.

Jessica also wasn't my first choice but she's been consistently used in the past decade so on the other hand, it's no surprise. But the title like MAWS implies it's not just Jessica and others will be starring. So there's the potential for other Green Lanterns to go to Earth to investigate and well they have to look into Jessica as well. The question is is there a current Green Lantern with the Corps that's from Earth or not.

I get the sense the GLC might have possibly been wiped out/whittled down waging a war against various alien races including Apokolips and the Kryptonians :ack:.

Hopefully that means no more generic tech villains :anime:!

Even in the comics Jessica's only supporting character is her sister, so they have a lot of room to expand and introduce other people...or maybe steal characters from other GL's :p.

I think it would be neat if Hal showed up as a mentor to Jessica :).

Good point. But then what about the other Corps, do they exist and will they start popping up, too? Hmm.

Guy or Kilowog would be hilarious.

In before this becomes yet another show that ties in to the overarching post-show GL: TAS plot :p.

Kilowog as an alien stuck on Earth could be a lot of fun :).

Interesting that the first MAWS spin-off is Green Lantern. I was expecting Wonder Woman or Shazam/The Captain, but this is nice too.

The focus on a teenage superhero going to school might be well-trodden, but it does at least set this show apart from MAWS and its adult protagonists. I hope Jessica Cruz's anxiety and PTSD are explored, even if I doubt it'll be as intense as in the comics or JL vs. the Fatal Five.

And if we get guest star GLs, I hope Simon Baz is a priority.

I'm assuming this show will be as anime-esque as MAWS so I fully expect Jessica to have a Magical Girl transformation sequence .

I'd be happy if they acknowledged it at all instead of making her the sassy activist pacifist she was in DCSHGG's second generation O_o.

I do wonder if they might de-age Carol Ferris again so she has a Star Sapphire her age to fight...

I look forward to seeing some initial designs for the show. From what I remember the main trio on My Adventures with Superman were shown when the series was announced.

I’m excited for this show, especially if it’s inspired by Sailor Moon like the show runner wanted!
Now I imagine a Sailor Guardian team made up of characters from each Corps. :p.

Meanwhile Tuxedo Mask will be played by...I dunno, Barry Allen :rolleyes2:?

I'm glad Green Lantern seems to finally be out of IP jail since all the way back in 2011. It's cool that Jessica Cruz gets to be the lead this time around. I'd like to see what characters show up (i.e. human and alien Lanterns alike), if Jessica's backstory/anxiety is explored and the overall tone of the show.

This might be a stretch but it would be cool if Aya and Razer can finally reunite in a different Green Lantern animated series after their appearances in Justice League Action and Young Justice: Phantoms respectively. They should bring back Giancarlo Volpe, Grey DeLisle and Jason Spisak too.

I'd love to hear Kevin Michael Richardson as Kilowog again :).

Considering the main trio much less the recurring cast were new to DC animation aside from a few like Fazal and Mittleman, I wouldn't count on too many reprisals. But then again the VO community is a small world so maybe we'll see more familiar names from past DC animation projects.

I'm curious if it'll have the same voice/casting director as MAWS...

Those doing the pyramid burger on YouTube are doing it wrong. Let it cook until it's well done because I've seen people doing it and trying it before spitting it after realising that it's raw.
I have another theory as for why Johnny Bravo is neglected by CN nowadays. Putting aside the basic concept, it's the retools that made the show chaotic.
I might be the only one who cares but why is Scooby Doo basically unavailable everywhere? Netflix has only Mystery Inc and the two James Gunn movies. Tubi has What's New and Where Are You. Meanwhile HBO Max has basically nothing. I've been itching to watch the classic Scooby Doo direct to video movies lately and they're nowhere to be found outside of purchasing them on sites like YouTube.
Last night started watching a new adult animated series, a Netflix original that is basically the succesor to Big Mouth.

What is so great? Despite being a 18+ show, they actually bothered to give it a Romanian dub :ack::eek:
