Wally is starting to make Dick question Aqualad now. The seeds are sown.

Nice! the way things are going shows just how far they have to go to defeat the light. But I'm really not caring for Wally at all! I can understand he's worried but to go as far as to put that doubt into Nightwing is not cool. Nightwing himself is obviously feeling guilty about the whole thing, and I sure he himself has thought of these things if his reaction to Wally's little melodrama is anything to go by. But right now he needs to focus on trusting Kaldur or else everything they have been planning is going to fall apart at the seams.

Aqualad being a triple agent? This is reaching M. Night Shyamalan levels of surprise twist.

I hope Kaldur isn't actually a triple agent, because that'd mean.. (spoilering just in case to be safe)

He'd have Artemis, Impulse, Blue Beetle, Lagann, and Beastboy all hostage D:

But seriously! This episode was insane! Please don't be a triple, Kaldur. :( That'd make Dick and Wally fight and we don't want that. Wally.. just be cool, and hang on. Things are bound to get better at some point!

gahhh the seeds of doubt... EVERYWHEREEE and Mount Justice - omg i didn't think it would be THIS soon that it'd be blown up! gahhh and Artemis just - gahh but Kaldur- aghhh I'm gonna cry. I guess next episode will reveal once and for all who's side he's on... lets just hope he's on the good side...

But of course, Impulse seemed to think he was a traitor.. so unless he's a great actor, or he didn't brush up on his history... he may very well be a triple agnt.

Oh my goodness! That was amazing! This episode is one of my favorites! (Wow I have a lot of favorites)

Even though Aqualad is one of my favorite characters, he's starting to scare me. He makes an effective villain.

The Terror Twins are back. My has Tommy Terror grown. He's massive! Somebody's been eating their protein.

It was funny that Icicle Jr's trying to hit on Tuppence.

I heard that Greg said that there was going to be an evil version of the Team. Looks like this is it. The Terror Twins, Icicle Jr., Artemis (as Tigress), and Aqualad as their leader.

Was that Shimmer in that pod? Looks like she's going to get augmented as well.

The raid on Mount Justice was fantastic. So strategic and well thought out. The Evil Team curbstomped the Team.

Interesting that Blue Beetle's Scarab can take over Jaime's body at any time. In the comics, Scarabs completely take over their organic host's body, but Jaime's Scarab was damaged before it bonded with him; which is why Jaime's in control and not vice-versa. Then again this isn't the comics.

I was shocked when Aqualad ordered Tigress to blow up Mount Justice! This double agent stuff is risky. Reminds me of the choices and multiple endings in Splinter Cell: Double Agent.

Wally is rightfully furious at Nightwing over all the risks they are taking to infiltrate the light. He even considers that Aqualad could potentially become the mask and actually turn evil. With Tula dead and revelation of his real father, I can see why.

Fantastic episode. I think an alternate name for this episode would be "Risks". I'm so pumped for next week's episode.

Maybe Wally shouldn't of said anything about Kaldur, but it's a perfectly valid question. Though I think the Light and Black Manta playing Kaldur is a more likely option.

And I don't think either Wally or Dick came across well in that scene.

Dick is walking a fine line in terms of what he sees as an "accepatble loss" when it comes to taking the Light down. How much is he willing to sacrifice? He's potentially sent Artemis to her death after she already gave up the hero life, could have gotten himself and a whole bunch of others killed this episode, and allowed Bart/Jaime/Gar to be taken. And how does he answer that? By saying those things were necessary. When do things stop being necessary?

I actually think Dick needs someone like Wally around to question him because Batman isn't. Dick is in way over his head here and somebody needs to ground him before he ends up sacrificing too much that it eventually destroys him in the end. We saw how much the events of what Dick did in "Failsafe" had on him and that was nothing to what's going on right now.

Wally's anger is founded as the risks are indeed great. While maybe he should not be so quick to doubt Kaldur and thus Artemis's safety, it IS worth questioning the level of risks they are taking. With nightwing and Superboy vulnerable, all it would have taken was one loose cannon amongst the actual villains to have them killed. And then there is the 4 captured team members. When it comes down to it, its worth questioning exactly how much control kaldur has on their situation. As it stands the team members' lives are in the hands of both black manta and the light's partner. Kaldur may not be able to stop them, making the risks VERY high. IN fact, Artemis isn't too safe either, she's hidden from black manta and the others for now, but her necklas is the only thing keeping her hidden... if that thing comes off like in the middle of a fight, then its over for her, kaldur's mission, and possibly everyone else the light now holds.

But of course, Impulse seemed to think he was a traitor.. so unless he's a great actor, or he didn't brush up on his history... he may very well be a triple agnt.
Or it could be that this whole mission ends without the truth of kaldur's secret mission as a double agent ever being known. Afterall in impulse's future, the team ultimately lost

I hadn't thought about this, but this is actually very, very interesting. Back in Disordered, in his therapy with Black Canary, he essentially said he didn't have the same drive as Batman, the drive to do whatever it takes for the mission (from memory so forgive me if that's wrong). This episode and the ones preceding it quickly prove that he is more like Batman than he wishes to admit. Even sacrificing Mount Justice.

Also, Young Justice was the number one trend on twitter at one point this morning, which is pretty cool.

I don't mind Wally questioning Dick about how far they are going with this mission, since that will help in the long run by keeping Dick grounded and level headed enough to know when they need to stop. What I mind is the fact that he's piling the doubt that Dick obviously already has with his own. In the future this could lead to Dick deciding that Kaldur is the enemy and decide to take him down when he may actually be working with them. What Wally should have done was question Dick on the circumstances of what's going on and actually get himself back in the super hero game, so that if Kaldur does turn out to be a triple agent he can do what he thinks he needs to stop him. Not count on Dick to do everything himself as he has been doing.

I noticed that too. Considering that she's in a pod she may not have agreed to be augmented willingly. I wonder where her brother Mammoth is and how he'll react to her being taken. Those 2 have always been very close.

Also I was a bit disappointed that Icicle Jr. didn't comment on Artemis' "death" at the hands of Kaldur. The tie-in comic showed that those 2 were childhood friends, so I would have expected him to have some kind of reaction to her dying.

Good episode but I didn't think it was as interesting as last week's episode.

I'm sure Aqualad is a hero but it would better if he turns out to be the bad guy since I think he is far more interesting in that role. I doubt he is a villain because he would be doing this all by himself and without approval from Black Manta and The Light.

I didn't like how Blue Beetle decided to attack Aqualad at melee range. The Scarab seems to be pretty smart so I thought it was out of character to do something so stupid. It felt like a bad way to set up Aqualad telling the viewers that mystic energy hurts the Scarab which I thought was bad writing for this show.
Aqualad doesn't even know the partner is Black Beetle
so I see no reason for him to blurt out this weakness in front of three villians who I doubt would realize it's mystic energy instead of just electricity that hurt him.
I think it would have worked better if Aqualad said during a fight with Black Beetle that he learned mystic energy hurts him from attacking Blue Beetle instead of revealing that in this episode.

I think you're taking too much out of this conversation here. The show obviously wants to keep the "what side is Kaldur on" angle going and the only real way to do that was through Wally.

And who is to say that Dick hasn't deluded himself into thinking Kaldur is completely trustworthy because everything hinges on that fact? He needs to consider the option that he isn't.

Having said that, I think it's likely that the Light is using Kaldur to create discord amongst the heroes and having him "help" them out in the meantime.I think they're aware of his allegience to the Team and will put him in situations that will make the Team distrust him. Just like how "killing" Artemis wasn't enough. Just like how they wouldn't let him "see" to La'gann. Revealing themselves to Kaldur this episode could just be a lure for the heroes to think their plan is working.

Maybe I'm reading to much into things here, but I still feel that Wally should get off his butt and actually start contributing to the plan, even if the light is just playing them. Because they are going to need a speedster with actual experience and knowledge of their enemies to help out and make a difference, as Bart just proved when he was taken down because he didn't know about the Terror Twins.

Amazing episode :D
The action scenes were great and the Impulse scenes were very funny XD

Well, this season seems to be filled by the underlying theme of the events of "Failsafe". Artemis "dying" and Wally being worried about her. The toll that Dick's decisions take on him and Kaldur playing the part of the selfless hero by becoming a "traitor". It was the first episode where we found out about M'gann's power potential and it appears Conner is once again trying to find himself after his break-up with her.

Also, the Wally/Dick scene in this episode made me think back to "Performance" when Dick told him that he didn't bring Wally along to the circus because he didn't want his judgment to be questioned. Wally replied that's what a best friend does and is what he's doing now five years later.

Maybe I'm reading to much into things here, but I still feel that Wally should get off his butt and actually start contributing to the plan, even if the light is just playing them. I agree Wally should be doing something (and I think he will sooner or later) but we don't even know why he quit in the first place. He shouldn't be forced into doing something he doesn't want.

Definitely a great episode. I find it ironic how Impulse came to stop the bad things from happening, but inadvertently causes the destruction of the mountain.

I'm anticipating the eventual return of Artemis and Kaldur(I really doubt he's a triple-agent) to the Team even more now. Trying to justify the fake defection and fake teammate death was one thing, but explaining the necessity of blowing up the Mountain and kidnapping several members will be impossible for the 4 to wiggle out.

Looks like Kaldur is back in the forefront in today's episode of Young Justice (: Invasion)!

*At the Gulf of Mexico, we have Lagoon Boy chewing out Kaldur for his (seeming) betrayal. Black Manta arrives and instructs his son on his next mission, while the newest Light Member will arrange things for Aquaman's latest protege. He reassures his son that he trusts him, but the other villains need more prove before they trust him.

*Kaldur is accompanied by 4 others for this mission. The Terror Twins are back and they look unusually bigger compared to 5 years ago (I'm guessing the upcoming video game and/or future tie-in comics will explain this for us). Icicle Jr. makes his second Season 2 appearance and he still has the hots for Tuppance (much to her annoyance and even though this is the first time they technical met).

*The 4th member is the disguised Artemis, now taken up the identity of her comics counterpart, Tigress! Quite a clever way for the crew to feature Artemis' villain identity without actually making her evil!

*At his house, Jaime is greeted by Impulse who wants to hang out! Jaime quickly agrees to avoid anyone seeing their secret identities. The Scarab insists that Impulse is up to something, but Jaime doesn't take its word seriously. Those who theorize that Impulse is getting chummy with Blue Beetle, because of something from the future may be on to something...

*At Ivy Town, Bumble Bee is greeted by Mal who wants to spend some quality time with her outside of hero work. She says she has to do some research at Dr. Palmer's lab, so he decides to accompany her; she complies, but warns him he'll be bored.

*Lagoon Boy briefly regains consciousness to hear a conversation in an alien language by two silhouettes...

*Blue Beetle and Impulse are at a rocky area and using their powers to make things out of rocks. Impulse's "self portrait" was quite impressive, I must say!

*Kaldur & his team find the two heroes and attack them! After some "motor-mouthed snark" Impulse swipes the device Kaldur is holding and escapes with Blue Beetle! Tommy chastises Kaldur about this, but the son of Black Manta keeps his cool...

*The two heroes return to Mount Justice and tell Nightwing what happened. Nightwing bluntly tells Impulse it was a very "rookie move" to bring an alien item (let alone one being used by the enemy), but he quickly calms down and decides to examine it.

*Kaldur explains to Tommy that device Impulse was a "Trojan Horse" and now they can get into Mount Justice!

*Hmm, I wonder if Sphere can some how tell what side Kaldur is really on...

*Mal tries to suggest different ideas for activities to do with Bumble Bee once she's done at the lab, but she doesn't seem to be paying full attention. Once Dr. Palmer shows up, Mal sighs...

*Superboy is in the grotto seen in the previous episode (good catch to those who caught the Jason Todd hologram, by the way) paying his respects to Artemis...when he is ambushed by Tommy and Icicle Jr.! The two villains acknowledge their resentments towards the Boy of Steel from Terrors. As with the episode Beneath, I do miss the more sympathetic Icicle Jr. we saw in Terrors, but then again, 5 years is enough time for him to loose that sympathy, I suppose. Kaldur (while looking at Aquagirl's hologram) tells his comrades they still need Superboy alive for the time being.

*Beast Boy is watching an episode of Hello Megan (his face says it all) until he hears a knock at the door...where he is greeted by a punch in the face by Tuppance!

*Nightwing, Blue Beetle and Impulse are soon made aware of the intruders and try to fight back! When asked by Impulse what he's made of, Tommy replies with the ingredients that created the Rowdeyruff Boys (which, in turn, was a verse from an old poem). The bad guys are also carrying the Belle Reve shock collars also from Terrors!

*Blue Beetle is the last hero standing, but he surrenders for the well being of his teammates and when Kaldur threatens to blow up Mount Justice with a "dead man's switch" and bomb!

*Despite Jaime's objections, the Scarab takes matters into its own hands and decides to fight back! Considering Kaldur's true allegiances, it is no surprise that the dead man's switch was a bluff, as the Scarab theorized.

*The 5 Villains make an escape with Blue Beetle, Impulse and Beast Boy captured! When asked by the Terror Twins why the others were spared, Icicle Jr. claims Kaldur still has a soft spot for his "former friends". To prove otherwise, Kaldur orders Artemis/Tigress to blow up Mount Justice! She asks him if he's sure and he confirms it...

*Mal notices the explosion and informs the Watch Tower while he goes to save Nightwing, Superboy, Wolf and Sphere!

*At the Hall of Justice, Wally meets with Nightwing, who fills him in on the information Kaldur gave him, such as injecting a tracker of sorts into Lagoon Boy and giving him a flash drive with crucial information. Wally is still not pleased and lashes out at Nightwing, who tries to assure him Kaldur gave them enough time to get outside the base before the explosion.

*Wally still isn't pleased and still fears Artemis' safety and outright claims he doesn't trust Kaldur! He claims Kaldur's "cover up" motives are ones that would make sense for him to turn to the Dark Side and says Kaldur could very well be a triple agent! Let the "Wild Mass Guessing" continue!

*We close the episode with Black Manta praising his son's efforts and saying the rest of the Light now trust him, prompting him to introduce his son to them! Ra's Al Ghoul does the welcoming this time around and also introduces Kaldur to the Light's partner...but it looks like we, the audience, will have to wait a little longer for that revelation!

Another great episode! It was nice to see some Season 1 villains back and see what Artemis has been up to after faking her death. Wally's words near the end will probably skyrocket fans theories on Kaldur's true allegiances and question them. Next week gives us the halfway mark for Season 2/Invasion!

Wow! Greg Weisman pulled another Clock Tower on us, and then some!
It really thew chills down my spine!

about Kaldur... I think he's heading on Snape's road...minus the greasy hair thing
He plays both sides, but only serves his own revenge agenda (Aquagirl being his 'Lily Evans')
I just hope he won't meet the same fate as Snivelus did
