Ben Affleck is the new Batman, replacing Christian Bale, in the combination Batman-Superman sequel to this year’s “Man of Steel” film in the Superman franchise. Superman will continue to be played by Henry Cavill and director Zack Snyder has indicated that, for Batman’s part in this film, he will veer away from the Dark Knight trilogy for tone.
The as-yet-untitled Batman-Superman film is currently scheduled for a release on July 17, 2015.
